Has there been discussion about adding an in real life function to Fantasy Grounds. I use mine mainly for this anyway but it would be awesome if i could write up characters and print them out from fantasy grounds as well as other things. I even bring screens along sometimes and get a user logged in for map purposes. It might appeal to other people looking for a computer based campaign log and notes. Like i said i use mine for this already but adding in printability would be awesome.

I think there has been plenty of such discussion. You may want to check this (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?23786-Using-Fantasy-Grounds-as-campaign-manager-printing&highlight=printing) out or this (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?15315-Printing-a-Character-sheet&highlight=printing) or even this (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?6105-Do-these-features-exist&highlight=printing). And finally also here (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?22440-5E-Character-sheet-from-XML). Finally, finally you can always add your request to the wish list (https://fg2app.idea.informer.com/) or vote for something already on there.

I am looking to Print the 5evNPCs as ref for a pen/paper game im playing as a druid. I have spend a great deal of money on the program, full package and 5e content (monster packs and modules) in order to run a game but now i am playing in a friends game live and dont want to have to pay for content like PHB or MM twice. If FG was portable on tablet then i would just use it as a mobile resourse but at present i need a list of Beasts i can turn into as a druid. I have not read the liscensing but if i allready own the content should i not be able to print it? This will become a major stalling point on me purchasing any more modules or add on content from FG since it seems to limit me to only my PC. Im afraid that unless it compeats FG utility will be second to apps like Beyond, roll 20 and Orcpub or Donjon. If there is a utility or funtion i am overlooking that allows me to export modules or books as a PDF or print it please let me know. I think FG really needs to adapt to the large revival of d&D and people using a combination of apps and paper data in "in person games". I play three games and only one is online and that is quickly becomming the less entertaining without built in Voice/cam or Sound sharring utilities other platforms are now providing. I still like the platform but it is slowly becoming obsolite.

I don't know if you checked out the links above, but they may give you some of what you are looking for.
A few things to note;
FG is portable, if you run it on a Windows tablet or laptop. That's what I do. Note that Beyond doesn't yet have their offline app, so it's not much different (except for being available on more platforms).
Given WotC's reluctance towards digital and especially PDF's, I doubt they would ever allow of any of their licensee's to create PDF's from the content. That being said, there are several ways to print your character sheets, but I don't know about NPC records. You might try lookin at the 5EFGParser or the NPC Engineer, those both are useful for getting things into FG format, they might have capabilities for extracting from non-locked content (i.e. stuff you make yourself).
The current architecture of FG is known to be getting old, that's why SmiteWorks has been putting a huge portion of their development into the Unity version. No scheduled release time for it yet, but you can search and find various demo's of parts of the FGU technology that is in development. FGU will also in a future release probably allow other tablet and phone applications, though SW hasn't said that they are doing that yet (but it is one of the strengths of the Unity platform).
As for video and sound, there are several guides of how to integrate FG with your video or sound application of choice. In general, I think the feeling is that since you can already get video and sound, that spending developers time on a FG native sound or video package isn't worth the effort. Again, maybe Unity will check the calculations on that, but it hasn't been mentioned or would I expect it to be a priority yet.

There are character printing utilities which take the XML and produce a printed character sheet. For a Druid you'll want to create PCs for the beasts you can turn into so that I think is your best solution.
