So fun thing we discovered tonight. If you scroll out to the right distance, you can see right through fog of war, see the entire map. Can't see monsters. Please fix this.

You're probably going to need to provide a little more information than what you've done so far. Example of the map file and steps to re-create I'm guessing for a start.

I can't recreate this issue.

Which ruleset are you using? Are there any extensions active? Was it for all images or just specific ones?

10934

I'm using 5e ruleset. No extensions. Jpeg image attached.

Steps:

1) you'll need two computers: 1 DM, 1 Player
2) open up the map (provided) on the DM client and share with the player
3) on the player side, shrink the map so that it is about a 4x6
4) zoom in and out until the fog of war can be seen through

Result:

10935

You can only see the corridors and rooms, but kind of defeats the purpose of a labyrinth...

Looks like the map grid lines are really close to the colour of the mask FG uses. Can you duplicate it if you generate the same map without grid lines?

Its likely a directx glitch and such an edge case it mightbe very hard to find the cause for. I have never seen this reported before. You could try the black mask extension and see if that does the same? and if you catch your players metagaming... do it right back at them.

Yeah, it's been reported a while back. I've done a quick search and can't find the post. If I remember correctly it was with a similar type of map.

Would changing the mask to black make a difference? Try this extension as an experiment to see: https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?22989-Change-Mask-color-from-white-to&p=197605&viewfull=1#post197605

is there a black grid extension?

it still shows up because the grid is grey while the fog is black

I think I figured out the problem:

The grid is dynamic. Meaning that it has a dark color on light backgrounds and a light color on dark backgrounds. So what the players are seeing is not the map, but the differences in the color of the grid lines as they pass over dark or light patches.

Is there a way to turn that off or make the grid a fixed color?
