I have played Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 with all the expansions and have played Neverwinter 1 and 2 so I know the basics of the game. You pick your class and then there is some kind of math involved with decided success or failure of certain tasks. I have just placed Player's Handbook (Dungeons & Dragons) and Dungeon Master's Guide (D&D Core Rulebook) on order from Amazon.com. I will be reading up. I already own the monster manual. It doesn't really say but I believe this is the 5e ruleset? I don't really know the differences in the rules based off of generation. Still I want to try and get involved in a game. I own Fantasy Grounds and can get whatever video conferencing software is mostly used. If any one knows the most common software please let me know what it is so I can buy it if I need to. My email is [email protected]. You can message me through here to talk about starting a game or me getting involved in a game.

I'm on vacation at the moment but I do work quite a bit. Still I can make room to play if I know when to make room. I live in eastern time zone(near Atlanta GA) and I usually am up at nights. Noon till about 2 or 3 am. If you have any questions just ask and I will try to answer them. I don't own a webcam. I was considering getting one but I want to make sure I will actually use it in this game because I have no need of one besides that and it is almost $100 for the cam I was looking at plus a stand.

I am very interested in starting a game geared toward new players. I have grown up around dungeons and dragons but never really tried to play it. However, that has changed as of recently, and I am interested in creating a character and playing a scenario. I don't have many friends that play, or admit to playing, Dungeons and Dragons and is the primary reason why I am seeking to try this online. Any advice, tips, and suggestions in how to go about achieving this is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Best plan is to regularly check out this forum (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?40-LFG-Looking-for-Group-%28formerly-Guild-House%29) where DMs advertise their games. Also we are very close to this (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?25466-FG-Con-7-Random-discussion-thread) which would be an excellent opportunity to see what it is all about. You can also head on over to the Game Calendar (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/calendar/), but it is a little tricky to figure out what is going on there. Finally, you could check out some of the tutorial videos (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?25466-FG-Con-7-Random-discussion-thread) on the wiki (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/wiki/index.php/Main_Page) which might give you some ideas on how Fantasy Grounds works.

I just noticed that the first post in this thread required moderation (I think the OP went back and edited it, which kicked off another moderation). I've approved it now... Sorry for missing it.
