Can Mac users sub to FG via Steam?

I hope I'm posting this question in the right thread.

I have a friend on a Mac. Can he purchase the $3.99 Player/DM license from the Fantasy Grounds store and then use the "Add a Game" button in Steam to activate it? Or does that only work with a regular Fantasy Grounds License/Ultimate License?

If he maintains the Subscription it will appear in his library usually within about 4 weeks.
