.mod files showing up for players that neither the gm or the player have

I recently had a player at my table who had a different players handbook (5E) show up on his side , that was neither on my system nor on his.
Im guessing that he played at a different table that used the .mod file , and perhaps his player cache had it , i have no idea.

When he mentioned to me about playing a Kender, i was like huh? I've never had this happen on my end, but i could see it causing some confusion for players.

Any one ever run across this? Would clearing the player cache be the right answer?

That's a new one. The only obvious way I could see this happening is if campaigns had the exact same campaign name.

Clearing the cache on the player side should fix at any rate.
