I'm sure this is on the site but I couldn't find it with a quick search and my game starts in 45 minutes. I bought the full version on Steam and now I want to upgrade to Ultimate. Do I need to do that upgrade via Steam or can I just hit the button in the launcher?

You can do it from the button on the launcher. Then enter the new key you get in the settings window and run and update - you'll then have a nice, shiny, ultimate edition! :)

Or you can do it through Steam (https://store.steampowered.com/app/300870/) it doesn't make much difference (unless you're outside the US and get a better exchange rate on one site or the other).
