Questions about PC Specific Notes in 3.5E Effects

I am trying to create some effects related to the caster level, but I have a problem: the caster level is not the character level. In PC Specific Notes in 3.5E Effects I have seen that in order to apply "effects from the Actions tab of the PC sheet, special tags can be inserted to provide numerical bonuses based on the PC's current attributes", but the list includes only the abilities and I have found (I do not remember where) LVL for character level is also possible. Is there a list of possible values? Is it possible to use the level of a specific class? Is it possible to divide among 3, 4... (until now, I can only halve a value)?
