View Full Version : An (Almost) Endless Supply of Tokens

Something that I thought of (and currently using) are the combat icons used for 'Forgotten Realms Unlimited Adventure' (FRUA) and Dungeon Craft (the up to date FRUA Viewer).

While it's true that FRUA was discontinued years ago, many people still use it and create graphics for it. With a little modification, the combat icons can be converted into workable tokens for FG.

If anyone is interested in this concept, let me know and I'll write up a tutorial on how to do it.

I'll also be listing images in the Gallery on my website if people just want to grab and snag images for their own use and don't want to mess around with trying to work with a paint program.

Here are some examples:

https://www.fantasticadventures.net/misc/mind_flayer.png
https://www.fantasticadventures.net/misc/shambling_mound.png

The backgrounds actually come up transparent in FG so they look really good (well, better than using the alphabet).

I do all my maps using Dundjinni so these fit perfectly. :D

I'm very interested. I'd love to see a tutroial. One thing I'm worried about is overcrowding the token box with too many custom icons.... do you know of any way to manage the token box?

Regarding the token box itself, check here (https://forums.fantasygrounds.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=152). :D

As for a tutorial, we just got back from St. Louis so I'll have something up this week. :)

OK - I've started a Gallery for pictures on my site that I've converted into suitable tokens for use with FG. :D

I'll be adding more as time progresses. I claim no credit for the initial creation of these files - I just convereted them for use with FG. :)

These images are scaled if you happen to be using Dundjinni for drawing your maps. Small images fit in a 5'x5' square and the larger ones fit in a 10'x10' square.

My site is located here (https://www.otalisman.com).

Checked your site, didn't see the gallery. Even registered, but kept running into pages that said I didn't have permission you view them. Becaem sad. Gave up.

The Gallery is listed in the Main Menu and should be available for anyone to view - registered or not. I also have a link at the top of the page. :?

Might also want to check the FAQ regarding Firewalls - and there's a block for that at the top of the main page if you're not signed in.

Tutorial for converting FRUA/Dungeon Craft Combat Icons into FG Tokens is available here (https://www.otalisman.com/modules/wfsection/article.php?articleid=10).

I tried to make it as basic as I could. If anyone has any questions, please be sure and let me know! :D

Elric,
Those tokens/pics are great. Would you be willing to zip each group up so that I just grab them all?

Thanks for the efforts,
Delekahn

Hey there Elric. Thanks for your posts.

I am still familiarizing myself with FG, looking around this site and another great one I’ve discovered, Adventuresome Dream. (https://www.adventuresomedreams.com/forums/index.php?)

You should all head over there for great FG discussions.

The URLs associated with the graphics in the first post are dead in this thread are dead, but by going to the last post I discovered the correct link to your site. Don’t know if you want to update the images here or not.

Thanks again for posting,

Feanor
