I really want to secure some original art for the DCCRPG ruleset. What have other ruleset builders done? Can anyone recommend a site for background textures (sheets, tabletop, etc.)? I have used cgtextures.com for maps in the past.

I would consider commissioning some art for desktop icons, a desktop image/decal, sheet border designs, etc. I was going to post in the G+ community for DCCRPG to start. There is a very specific style that I want - fans of DCC know what I am talking about, so G+ seems like the logical place to go for that.

Anyone have any other advice they can offer about this sort of thing in general?

Font awesome could be a good place for icons. For frame backgrounds, anywhere that does proper tile textures would work.

For textures I usually find what I need here (https://www.deviantart.com/browse/all/?section=&global=1&q=textures) (but you gotta make sure it has a commercial use license) or here (https://www.cgtextures.com/index.php) (everything is free to use for personal or commercial use).

For icons, I was referring to the desktop icons for Story, NPCs, Items, etc.

Savage Worlds and Call of Cthulhu are good examples of rulesets with custom icons on the right side of the desktop. You can see them in the screenshots (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/screenshots/).
