Questions Regarding DLC and Core Sets for 5e

Hey Everyone
I'm looking at what comes with each D&D 5th Ed pack. There isn't an obvious 'Player's Handbook' or 'Monster Manual' but there are similarly named packs. Basically what I need is all core stuff to go with the already purchased Princes of the Apocalypse. Also, do Heroic Characters 1-8 come with anything or are they strictly individual dlc at this time?

Completely random tangent that I want to toss in this bucket of questions. Steam or direct download? Which is the superior method?

If you're using a Mac you must purchase from the FG store as additional Steam DLC won't download on a Mac. The base licence is OK to purchase for a Mac on Steam, just not the DLC.

This is a marketing decision by WotC as these electronic products are not Handbooks and Manuals so to avoid confusion they have been named as above.
They do contain all the information that the corresponding physical products do - all in Fantasy Grounds format ready to rumble.
