View Full Version : Issues Editing Posts

I'm running into 2 different problems:

1. Frequently, I am unable to edit a post and receive a message that my edit was too short and cannot be done - even when the edit was more than a few sentences.

2. On some posts, when I go to edit, the post does not appear in the edit box - this occurs even when I move to an advanced editor.

Any suggestions?

You're not trying to edit within a quote tag or something?

What browser are you using?

Additionally, some people have mentioned in the past seeing strange behaviour once the site goes into using HTTPS transport rather than HTTP. See if your URL has HTTPS at the beginning and remove the S to leave HTTP.

It happens when I use IE, Chrome and Firefox. Chrome and IE were both going in using https, but Firefox was not. Same issue across the board (at least with the longer post not appearing in the edit box.

I edit a lot of posts and I've never seen this issue. Try adding fantasygrounds.com as a trusted site. What A/V are you using?

Thanks for helping with this Trenloe. Here's where I'm at.

I am attempting to edit the AL FAQ post at https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?25032-AL-FAQ-and-Common-Questions
When attempting to edit the post, the post does not appear in the edit box.
The issue occurs in Chrome, Firefox and IE.
The issue occurs whether I go in http or https
The issue occurs even though the Fantasy Grounds site is listed as a trusted site
Note on the point above - Firefox does not have a "trusted sites" option and to list FG as a trusted site in IE or Chrome, I must add the site as https.
I'm running Windows 7 on an Imac in bootcamp. The Video Card is an ATI Radeon HD 4850 (is that what you meant by A/V?)

Is there a limit to how many times you can edit a post? Or a time limit?

Nope.

Didn't someone fix the links in that post before? Maybe in doing so the owner of the post was changed and Talen lost the rights to edit it? Or something obscure like that. heh
