Okay hi, first off, if this thread needs to be moved or the answer is somewhere and I missed it, I am sorry. So I am having a little trouble understanding what my group needs to play. I plan on buying the Ultimate edition so I can share content with my users and I understand they only get the content while connected to me. My question is, we want to run the "Hoard of the Dragon Queen" campaign and I am not exactly sure what I need to get. I know I need to buy the actual adventure, I assume I need the core class pack as well. Do I need the monster manual or anything else? Do I need to buy the DM handbook or anything.

Thanks for all the help.

TL;DR If you have time and cash poor you just need the Ultimate License, everything can be created on the fly. If you have cash and want to save time and headaches buy the Core Pack and the HotDQ module. For greater playability down the road also buy the MM.

What Nylanfs says is pretty much right.
The Ultimate License will let your players play without a license of their own.
The Core Character Pack will let your players build the class/characters that they need.
The HotDQ includes everything else needed to play it thru.

Buy it all! Support Fantasy Grounds! Don't eat for two months!

:) That was my plan and so far it seems to be working - I dig it and quite frankly after doing it all I can say is that it is WELL worth the money.

Seeing as how I think the total amount of things for sale in the store comes to over $3000 you have a HUGE grocery bill every week. :)

Hah, no, I just got the 5E stuff - two core packs and all the adventures. :)

I would seriously take a look at some of the map packs, those are pretty cool too. :)

These are nice (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/store/product.xcp?id=RPLairsFG2) a little pricy though.

Forests are ALWAYS useful. (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/store/product.xcp?id=DGA030)

Deserts and Plains anyone? (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/store/product.xcp?id=DGA031)

What a random collection of install methods. Thanks though, some great looking maps in there!

how about just make your own maps? (https://pyromancers.com/dungeon-painter-online/)

I discovered that site when someone was asking about problems with it. Seems really neat, kind of like a more modern minedraft.net/ (https://minedraft.net/). I however have the artistic talent of a basket of dirty clothes, so will leave the beauty making to others! :)

I have no artistic talent as well and that hasn't stopped me using Pyromancer's or other map making products. Pyromancer's is simply a case of dragging and dropping what you want onto the map - quick and easy, even for us artistically challenged gamers. :)

i guess i could see if your were trying to build a whole dungeon or something might be difficult, but as for making maps for encounters its pretty easy, and quick not a lot of time to build at all.
