Possibly, but the HoloLens is going to be priced for corporate customers not for individuals, however that being said, there is a potential market there, including miniatures, 3d mapping components, and that's taking into account nothing more than projecting players around a table.

Imagine the GM taking the time to craft entire areas complete with atmosphere sounds and full-sized monsters. All of it is potentially possible based on the demo reel that Microsoft put out.

The choice of demo location and software seems a bit strange if it's only aimed at corporate users.

Sorry for the late reply... It's been a busy week.

I agree that a lot of the information in the demo reel looked more personal than corporate, but the last time I saw a potential pricing guide for HoloLens they were looking at something like $3,000.00 for the product. However, an XBox One cost Microsoft significantly more than they sold it for ($457 per unit cost vs $499 retail cost - and you know every retailer sells for less than full retail), with the lost income replaced by game sales - there's no reason to believe that they won't do the same with HoloLens.

I'm not sure where this places HoloLens, however I know Google Glass is (or at least was) priced around $1500 (that's what they asked for me to get the pre-release for Google Glass), and doesn't have half the functionality that HoloLens is claiming they will have available on release....

With that said, even at $1500 it's a steep price to pay - I'm not 100% sure I can justify it with my wife, but I'll surely try. ;)
