How do you get one onto your char. I went to tables found the trinkets that you can drag but when I go to drop it into my inventory it doesn't show up. What am I doing wrong?

Which ruleset are you using? Which table are these "trinkets" in?

If the entries in the table have a link and it won't drag to the PC inventory then it is more than likely that the entry is not an item and perhaps just a free-form text description. If that is the case, and you want the trinket to show in your inventory, then you'll have to manually create the item in your inventory.

Trinkets are part of the D&D 5E PHB.

You'll likely have to type it in by hand, as I haven't found anyplace on the character sheet that dragging it accepts it.
