I opened the port through the router using port forwarding exceptions, I disabled my windows firewall and my avast firewall has already made an exception for port 1802 both in and out tcp/udp. Every time I try to test the connection I get a failed result and the updater works so it appears that I can access the network. I have set my IP to a static number on IPV4 I got the ultimate edition specifically to play with a group of friends and I have run through the gambit for trying to get this to run and still cannot get people to join my game. Please help.

Damned probably remembers my situation. I had my personal router connected to my providers modem/router. We pulled out all the tricks and simply could not get my combo to work. Eventually I was forced to remove my personal router and start using the providers modem/router by itself (much simpler) and everything started working. No problems since. One thing I discovered is that my wife's computer needed to use the internal IP address and everyone else uses either the alias (words) or the retrieved external IP address.

Yes, anything behind your modem uses the internal ip address.

Hi Meliath1742 - its perfectly possible to set it up behind the two firewalls you just have to set that NAT up properly on both. modem/router nats to wifi/router wan which nats to PC - but it is much, much easier when there is only the one firewall in place.
