Is it possible to hide enemy names in the initiative tracker?

You can change the names to anything you want before you reveal them to the players.

On the combat tracker under the NPC's token there's a drop down menu. Select "U" , the entry will appear as "Unknown" to the players.

Sorry I guess that's what I get for using Savage Worlds. I thought it was a core feature. I got spoiled with that ruleset. I swear it used to be in other rulesets though.

I just set the NPC name to be something descriptive rather than their actual name. Do this in the encounter entry before adding to the combat tracker or change once on the combat tracker.

Naming the NPC works well for this ie instead of Orc call it Retcher and so on - this works great for bosses. Like Trenloe says, when I have a monster that the party has no clue what it is, I'll just call it a descriptive name depending just how bad their passive knowledge of the creature type is. The guys in one of my games fought several "Clawed Fangy Thing"s last week. :)
