I'm a big fan of the sword & sorcery genre and all it's tropes (https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/SwordAndSorcery). I'm aware of some rule tweaks in the DMG that would work quite well for this genre. At first glance it's obvious that all non-human races would have to go for a setting like the Hyborian Age. Also, quite a few classes wouldn't have a place there.

I was wondering if any of you had experimented with the rules already or know of any non WOTC D&D 5e sword and sorcery setting on the market. Failing that, what would you do to make 5e more S & S like? As a player, do you feel like less races and classes options would hinder your gaming experience?

I was thinking the Warlock would be the only spellcaster allowed. Maybe a modified wizard turned alchemist also. Reskin the ranger class, call it amazon with men being their favored enemy. Rogue, barbarian, fighter and monk classes. An emphasis on rituals instead of spell slinging.

What else?
