This Fighting style allows you to reroll 1s and 2s on damage dice.

In the 4e syntax, this was covered under the brutal property - is there an equivalent in the 5e syntax?

In the weapon property put REROLL 2

A quick search (using the "Site Search" link at the top of this page) for "great weapon fighting" returned: https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?22083-Great-Weapon-Fighting

Note - you won't see a dice reroll when using the "reroll X" property, but the number returned for the dice will be "re-rolled".

So Reroll 1 would just do the 1s rolled?

So if the 2nd roll is a 1 or a 2, it still is used?

I see a nice opportunity for a magic item here.

Would be a nice thing for many tweaks on items, keeping power in line, but still being cool.

Arrow of Lesser Slaying
Attack +3 Damage 1d8 plus 3 plus Dex Mod
Used against correct type of creature additional 1d10 plus 3 reroll 2
One shot Item
Dex mod plus 2 gives
Avg around 18 or so, min 10, max 26

A curse Reroll 20 effect would have to be GM visibility only.

I believe the dice is a different color on a re-roll.

Reroll isn't an effect, it's an entry in the weapon properties section.

I believe the dice is a different color on a re-roll.
I'm not seeing a different die colour. FG reports "RESULT MOD" in the roll result string if a re-roll is triggered. For example, the following re-rolls and gets a 5 on the re-roll:

[DAMAGE (M)] Handaxe [REROLL 2] [RESULT MOD D1=5] [TYPE: slashing (1d6+2=7)]

Oops your, right Trenloe. I must have been thinking about brutal from the 4E ruleset. Too bad they didn't do the same thing in 5E, its not necessary but its good feedback that the roll is working right.

Tried adding reroll 2 to weapons property in D&D 5e, but it doesn't seem to work. My screen cap shows the weapon properties field and in the chat window you can see there is an attack roll of 1 and 2. I was lead to believe that reroll 2 would auto reroll a 1 or a 2. I tried typing in all caps, all smalls and variations thereof... what am I missing? I tried using the combat tracker as well.

Thank you...

You reroll 1 and 2 for damage not for attacks.

Thank you... Guess I need to read better or quit working earlier.

I've looked around and can't find a positive answer, but does anyone know of a good way to make this work for an NPC?

Zacchaeus

As far as I know it doesn't work for an NPC. It needs to be in the weapon properties and an NPC has no weapon properties.

That's what I was afraid of. Hoping for a trait, or effect or something that someone had been able to work out. I will just manually make the adjustments.

Thanks for the quick reply!

I have added the property as shown in the picture but it's still not working. Any help would be much appreciated!

Can you post a screenshot of the weapon showing where you added the property and also the chat window when you make a damage roll.

If you have the Great Weapon Fighting fighting style feat on the character sheet, then the adjustments should automatically be made.
