I bought the Savage World ruleset for both me and my 10 year old son. I have never played Savage worlds, tho I have played ADD, 3.5, and Pathfinder ALOT!

The description looked interesting fro SW.

If I wanted to learn the game and play something fast and fun with my son, what would be a good DLC to buy? There are so many Savage world settings. Do I even need to get one, or are they all basically reskins of SW?

Any good starter DLCs or whatever to recommend from anyone? btw, he is bright and I am not scared of over-complicated rules.

Thanks,

You can start with just the core book. Included are a few one-sheet adventures. You can always get the DLC Eye of Kilquato for free.

But a fun DLC to purchase and run for a kid is 50 Fathoms. Think Pirates of the Caribbean.

I don't believe there any complicated Savage Worlds settings. It's basically a matter of what kind of themes you are willing to expose your child to or not.
