I'd like to try FG with pretty much anyone who'd welcome me. I have little to no pen and paper experience but I think this might be something I'd enjoy. I've enjoyed some rp in MUDs and MMOs before.

Is there such a thing as solo adventure with a DM? I'm thinking to help learn the basics, plus something like that seems like it could be ad-hoc and I'm anxious. :)

I guess I'd prefer a larger group once I know the ropes because I can see where more ppl could well mean more fun but I wouldn't want my noobishness spoiling anything for anyone either. I would imagine I'll read up on some things beforehand if someone lets me know what they'd welcome me playing.

Anyway, I'm down for trying pretty much any game/ruleset. If anyone uses steam and would like to add me, help get me started, or anything of the sort: https://steamcommunity.com/id/robinson777/

Wlcome denihilist! Do not let your shiny newness hold you back but do be prepared to put in some effort and be a little patient too.
A few things you should do are let people know your timezone and your availability.
The best way to find a game is to look for one - eg use the New Posts link above and apply directly to games as well.

Hey there new to FG myself. US East I am unfamiliar with 5e but at ease with 4th and 3.5 Id be willing to play or DM in either of those settings if the players permit my newness to the tools etc..

Hey Morgentaler!
There is definitely still interest in 3.5e and 4e. With an active DDI account you can user a great Parse tool to download and create 4e reference material very easily and there is some OGL 3.5e material included.
If you let the players know that you are new most will be very understanding.
The best way to find out if there is enough interest is to post a game in this subforum, and preferred time (and your timezone) and players will come to you :)
If you have any specific questions holler out.

I'm going to do a one-shot Pathfinder dungeon crawl to get my feet wet with running FG. It will be pretty generic, there's a dungeon that has monsters and treasure in it. I'm usually more into story and plot/character development but this is also an exercise for me to learn FG. Been roleplaying for a long time but this will be my first time running a game using FG. As a newb I welcome other newbs!
