Any Persistent Servers?

I am wondering if anyone has used FG as a persistent server? Inotherwords, players could log in at will and make their turn, kind of like a PBP game, but with more features and functionality. Maybe even setup just a chat room, like the red dragon in or something, such that players could hang, fight, roleplay, etc.

Kind of needs a DM.

Although, a DM could leave FG up for players to login when they want. You'd still need some DM interaction for anything other than character review or looking at shared content.

I have read of it being tried before - combat is challenging as you need to act in initiative order. it can absolutely be done but when there is combat you would probably want to try to resolve it all at once - get everyone together for 20mins to do the combat and then they can go back to PbP role playing.
