Greetings all.

So, I travel every week for work and I got this idea to host a game for my buddies on week nights while I travel. The problem is I keep failing the connect test. I know the connection test tells you to forward your firewall through a specific port, but being at the hotel I don't know if I'm able to do that. Does anyone have any ideas on how to accomplish this? I could really use some assistance.

Thanks

Or this: https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?20160-Using-a-VPN-Service-Provider-to-get-around-port-forwarding-issues

Or ask the hotel to open the port for you (unlikely).

Hamachi works and it's free (have one connection for each 4 users) but the players have to install and set it up as well. My link above about using a VPN provider is less work from the player side (it's essentially transparent) but you'll more than likely have to buy a monthly subscription to the VPN provider. If you get one of the yearly specials, or a current user recommends you, prices of $40-50 a year are possible for a reliable, no limit VPN provider.
