Hi! I have windows 8.1 on a quad core with 8gb of ram with Radeon HD 7800 series graphics card and when I roll dice they lag a lot.

All my drivers are up to date, but I'm using DX11 and it seems FG was made for DX9? Is that the issue?

Either way how do I fix it?

You can have versions 11 & 9 installed at the same time.

Tried. Windows 8.1 won't allow the installer to do anything AND it doesn't make any difference if I run it in any compatibility mode. Anyone else here have Windows 8.1 that doesn't lag?

Hmm maybe it's different with 8.1 I know I have them on my system but it is 7.

How many window do you have open in FG?
The FG game engine is single threaded so if you open too many windows (and it probably starts kicking in around 7) you can see laggy dice.

Also check you dont have Mac Linux compatibility enabled in Settings.

I have seen where Windows will use the Intel HD/Iris built-in for graphics and not switch to the discrete card for 3d applications; it's possible this might be the problem. You can go into the BIOS and disable the Intel HD graphics or there are some tools around the web that can help diagnose problems from switching between integrated/discrete graphics.

I don't have an integrated graphics card. I prefer boards with as little on-board as possible. I only have the Radeon :|

Any other suggestions?

If you're running from Steam, make sure to turn off the Steam overlay.

I am running from steam. How do I turn off the Overlay?

/edit - Nevermind I figured it out. Still laggy as hell. Thanks though.

/edit more - Uninstalled from steam, deleted all files I could find and reinstalled with web installer. Still laggy. Seem less laggy but the dice aren't rolling as smooth as I remember.

You don't have anti-aliasing on in your Video card do you? Try turning it off.

I'm also starting to wonder about directX on your computer. I'm not up on Windows 8 though. It couldn't hurt to re-install though.
