Hello,
First off I want to say I'm sorry for posting about something you all see everyday on here but I have come to a road block and can't get pass it. Thank you for understanding. My friends and I would really like to use FGII to play some DnD together but as the GM I can't get anyone to connect me. I'll list everything I have done so far to get connected and all the forum post that I have used and what I did with them.
First thing I did was Port Forwarding using the steps provided from Compatibility and Networking (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/faq.php?faq=networking)!
There I open the ports on my router, called my ISP to see if they had them blocked and finally I made sure all ports are open through any virus and windows firewalls.
However whenever I tested using CanYouSeeMe.org (https://www.canyouseeme.org/) I received a connection timed out message. From what I understand that is most likely because of a firewall or 3rd party program stopping it.
After many hours of tring to lock it down I couldn't find out why so I begin to think ok I need to do something else.
So then I created a static IP for my system. That didn't open up my port either. Everything on my side seemed to be doing the same thing failed connections to me.
I would like to note at this time Lan wise I can connect other computers in my home to the hose no problems.
Well the next step I wanted to do is try using Logmein-Hamachi, now I have used Hamachi for Minecraft so I have some xp with it. I got it set up helped a friend set it on his side and I had some success. Now on my side while hosting I saw him connect but he would just set on downloading and never fully connected.
At this point with nearly 15+ hours later I feel like I have wasted my money on getting the Ultimate with the DnD 5th Ed. Player Classes and MM deluxe. If my players can't connect to me what's the point in having it.
So please help me and any info you need to help please ask. I know some about computers and I can follow steps really well. Thank you.
