Note: As always, please make a backup of your FG data folder before updating and opening campaigns with a test release.

This release is a placeholder for adding minor features and bug fixes, but will be on an expedited schedule.

Please see the sticky thread on public testing if you want to be involved. The Test mode slot (available via the FG Settings dialog) contain this version right now.

We're a small company so we rely on our community to help sound out each new release. Thanks in advance to all those who pitch in.

Thanks,

[CoreRPG+] Campaign desktop decal option added.
[PFRPG] Odd number ability bonus effects would not affect roll modifiers. Fixed.

[CoreRPG+] Campaign desktop decal option added.

This is cool; easy to add new decals and flip through them even while the game is in session, also.

Was wondering if you can add a set of effects to adjust the ability modifiers, rather than just adjusting the ability scores (instead of having an effect adjust *STR* by -1, have it adjust the STR *modifier* by -1, for example)? Maybe something like "STRMOD: -1"?

Moon Wizard

You can already do that by using STR:2 which is equivalent to STRMOD:1

Updated Dungeon and Wood themes to avoid conflict with new decal option.

What is the decal option?

Updated 4/8 - Included instructions in the extension.xml for what changes are needed to customize your own extension to avoid conflicts between extensions.

There's a new option in the campaign options window that allows the GM to cycle through background decals for the campaign desktop. Currently, there is only the SW dragon as an option in CoreRPG/5E/4E/PFRPG/3.5E, but CoC/C&C/Numenera have one additional option related to their original desktop decal.

Also, additional decal options can be added via an extension. I've attached one I just put together as an example for Doug. It just uses the SW dragon again as an example, but you can replace the file in the graphics/decals/ folder within the extension with any decal you want. (Remember that you generally want a transparent decal for this kind of ornamentation.)

Cheers,

Yeah, but it's non-linear, and the amount depends on the original attribute value. That's what I do now, but I have to calculate the amount for each character, since they all start at different base numbers. Just wanted to have an effect that always adds or subtracts a number from the final die roll for a particular attribute (much as I can do now with the "ABIL:" effect, but just target specific attributes).

Decal? You mean the logo in the middle of the desktop?

Moon Wizard

Yes, the decal is the logo in the middle.

I almost always use JPG files for my background+decal because they are generally many times smaller than the same image on PNG. The limitation of this is that JPG does not support transparency so generally your decal would have to be square/rectangular.

JPG - would you consider extending this functionality to support multiple background images?

It does support multiple background decals, you can add as many as you like via extension. The one I provided only adds one, but you could add a whole pack at once.

Sorry MW - I meant the desktop wallpaper background....

Moon Wizard
April 5th, 2015, 00:40
There's currently a few new features needed in the client to change that right now, so it will have to come in a later release. The background is more complex, since it is a frame that contains sidebar graphics.

We have been discussing internally whether it makes sense to be dividing up the "theme" concept like this, since the look and feel makes more sense as a general overhaul (frames, buttons, fonts) which requires an extension anyways. Plus, you'd have to add an extension anyways to add the desktop options anyways.

There were a few updates pushed to Test channel for Savage Worlds ruleset and Deadlands Reloaded setting. These are not necessarily going to be released at same time as v3.0.12, but I thought I'd mention since a new Update will appear for those that own those DLC products.

Is there a way via the 'Decal_Custom.ext' extension to add multiple graphics files that can be selected in the Options drop down box?

Stargrove,

Yes, you just need to add an icon asset and a string asset for each decal option you want to add, then add another OptionsManager.addOptionValue(...) call to the onInit script.

A couple other things you can edit to customize. (announcement text, properties subtag text fields, script name attribute to prevent overwrites)

I just updated the custom decal extension posted in this thread to add instructions in the extension.xml file on which aspects to change to create your own unique decal extension that does not conflict with other custom decal extensions.

I like the decal extension and it seems to work well. The only down-side I have noticed is that with multiple background images in the extension, it takes longer to download/connect when client instances start. For fastest FG startup times, it may be best to keep the extension to a single custom image and make multiple versions for different backgrounds (since they are selectable in the campaign load screen).

Make sure you consider the size of your images.... :)

Perhaps...but there's only so much you can do with 500x500 color .pngs. Best solution is individual extensions, since I'm not holding my breath for dynamic download. ;)

This link might help.

But also - "consider the size of your images" sometimes means not using that image :)

It's fine with one-offs - smaller than the default Dungeon theme.

Experienced a weird issue today while running for the con. In version 3.0.12 of the PFRPG Ruleset when I rolled saving throw attacks from NPC sheets they did not work.
I tried applying them to targets several different ways but no dice were rolled. In a later game the GM seemed to be experiencing a similar issue.
To Test:
Target Player from NPC token... (double click token to verify it is the right sheet that is open)
Go to Spells Tab
Click Cast Button... no save for target rolled.
unlock NPC
Open magnifier to reveal spell elements.
Click save directly.. no save for target rolled.
Drag save directly to PC token... save DC 'number' seems to appear in chat window but no dice rolled or success fail determined.

Hi - quick question; is it possible to have multiple decals to cycle through using this extension? For example I might want to use one with my 5E game, but cycle through 2-3 options for a C&C game.

I've tried unzipping this .ext replacing the custom png image with my own file with an identical name and file type. I've zipped the files back up and named the zip "Decal_Custom.ext" and put it in the correct place, but its still not working.

Did you zip up the entire folder or just the contents of the folder. If you did the former then that is the problem. Select everything inside the folder and zip that up - not the top folder.

seoulgamer

I read the instructions that said not to zip up the entire folder. I was careful to only zip up the contents as instructed.

Custom decals are done through extensions, so add the modified extension to the extensions folder.
