Hi Guys

Have just jumped ship from Roll20 and purchased the Ultimate Edition and plan to be running some SW. I have purchased the SW core rule set in FG which is fine....

I see from the store I can purchase Hellfrost, Deadlands player guides and modules etc. I already own these as PDF's. Do I have to purchase them again in FG to get them into my FG campaign or can the be imported to allow GM/player to access to new races/classes etc?

Sorry I am not used the the FG terminology yet!

If you own (a license to) the material then you can input the data into a "home-made" module yourself.

The advantage in purchasing a module from the SW/FG Store is that someone else has done all the work of getting the data into a format that FG can handle.

Does that answer your question?

Thank you....It does... but input to a Home Made Module? is there a guide/you tube on how to do this if I decide not to purchase again?

Im not a Savage player/GM so someone else is likely to give you more specific info.

Some of the things that are included in these settings are the themes - all the visual elements or skins. You can create these yourself - if you look at the basic themes here: https://www.fg-con.com/free-downloads/ you can open them up and see how they tick and make your own.

To add story elements just go right ahead and start copying and pasting data in. Ikael has an NPC import extension somewhere here that will make things soooo much easier.
You can extract maps and other images etc.

Here are some really short intro videos... https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLsgd1zJLdiKUrEd85Dqr6UcaaLvD7YlJd
Poor production quality - useful content. Not SW specific but will help you understand FG and get over some of those speed bumps.

At the bottom of this page there is a Savage Worlds intro session by Ikael and Mask Of Winter - if you have a lazy 90mins - watch this and follow along inside FG.

And welcome!

And check out FG Con 6 too! Some Savage Worlds sessions that need some players!

There are some Tutorial Videos on the Wiki - mine can also be accessed from the links in my sig.

Basically, for a module you enter the info into Story Entries in FG and then use the /export (pronounced slash export) command in the Chat box - from there its pretty straight forward - BUT WATCH THE TUTORIAL VIDS FIRST (mine or Xorn's or Damned's, or all of them)

cheers

What you want to do is to get this editor (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?19202-Savage-Worlds-Enhancement-Extensions&p=152731&viewfull=1#post152731).
It's an extension so it has to go in your extension folder. To find that folder click on the folder icon on the top right on the splash page right above where the version number is located. Drop the library extension in that extension folder. If you don't have, just create one and name it "extensions" without the quote marks.

Back on the splash page select "create new campaign"
Name it whatever you want, if you want to create a library module for Broken Earth you can name it just that for instance. Don't use symbols like &:$% or whatever or it will corrupt your data.
Select Ruleset: SavageWorlds
Extensions: SW Enhanced Library
Start
Once inside, locate the library icon RHS and click on it.
Right click on a blank space of the LHS and select Create Book
Enter a name for your module and a category (if you enter Savage Worlds Essentials it will appear in that section, if you make up a name it will create a new section for you)
Right Click anywhere on the RHS and select Create Page from the dial menu.
Gear entry to create gear list, Text entry for fluff or List Entry for powers, hindrances, edges and skills.
To enter text just copy and paste from the pdf you have. To get rid of the line breaks (which makes the process of copy/paste rather tedious) highlight a paragraph and hit ctrl+j
For more information check out the documentation located in the the link I provided and the youtube video the creator of the extension and I recorded as pointed out by Damned. It covers a lot more than just how to make a library module. You'll find some examples in this other lengthy video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hHMlt38iz3k#t=509) as well.
You also want to check out the other extensions for Savage Worlds. They are located at the beginning of the thread I directed you to. The NPC Maker is quite good.

If you want to play some Savage Worlds on FG there is FG Con coming up as Damned pointed out. Also, the Society of Extraordinary Gamers (see my signature) runs 4-5 Savage Worlds games a week. There's a Last Parsec and Savage Black Sails campaign starting this Saturday, I've got my Deadlands open table game on Friday, a Musketeers campaign in 3 weeks, Savage Fallout on Wednesdays and more. https://extraordinarygamers.com/Calendar

Have fun!

Using story entries as Dulux pointed out has it's limitations.
If you want to create a plot point campaign, one-sheet or adventure module it's easy and works great.
If you want a campaign setting, using the SW Library Extension is much more flexible as it allows you to create Edges, Hindrances, Powers and Skills that can then be dragged and drop into a character sheet for later reference by the PCs. If all your players have the pdf or hardcopy, library modules aren't essential. If they don't have it then the module comes in handy when they gain an advance and it's time to shop for a new Edges, gear, etc. They can reference it right on your table and drag/drop onto their sheet. Otherwise they either have to buy the setting book, you name a list of options to them or you be a pirate and share your copy (and it's very frowned upon here).
I hope that makes sense.

For the settings, I would highly recommend picking these up as a purchase just for the skin and the extensions alone -- not to mention that having all the text and images pre-loaded for you is rather nice. The Deadlands extension has some really nice features built into it that would be hard to replicate without dumping in a bunch of programming time.

The other nice feature is that while some part of the purchase goes to SmiteWorks, another portion goes back to Pinnacle for allowing us to carry the license and finally, the last portion (15%) goes back to the community dev that did the conversion. It's perfectly acceptable to run with only the Savage Worlds ruleset and your PDF copy. If you decide to pick up the pre-converted stuff, though, we hope you will agree that it was well worth it when you consider the quality of the conversion and the amount of time it saves you.

Thank you... And I agree and will purchase the setting in order to support the dev's great work....

Ok .. Think I am nearly there but...

I purchased the 50 Fathoms add on as my players want to play that but it only works seems to work on the v3 ruleset... I manually copied the source book extentions over to a blank 4e campaign and they loaded fine... But is there a way to enable/use the great theme etc.. ... When I start v3 it up it asks me to update to the latest v4 ruleset but I just get error messages when I try and when it loads most of the options don't work...in fact all of the game options aren't even showing...

I know 50 Fathoms is really a v3 campaign.. But all the nice things like raise calculators and the other great game options are not available in that older ruleset......

Basically is it possible to use the 50 Fathoms https://www.fantasygrounds.com/store/product.xcp?id=S2P10015FG2 in the latest ruleset is SW...

Make sure your FG Forum username and password is entered in the Settings window. Run the updater. Everything has been ported over to version 4. No need to use SavageWorlds3 anymore.

I just noticed that we still had the old installer loaded in the store. I replaced it with the Install Instructions file that gives you the same instructions as posted by Mask_of_winter and damned. Send a note to [email protected] if you have any issues getting it updated that way.
