I have been working on translating the old 1st ed. Temple of Elemental Evil mega module into fantasy grounds.
I'm currently working on level one of the main dungeon.

I've got 6 category tabs in my story section, along with a like number of categories in the npc's, images, encounters, etc, etc...

I have noticed that it seems to take quite a bit of time to load up my campaign (the directory clocks in at 80MB), I thought to export some of the module and break it up, yet the export function only allows to export all entries in a category, or drag each individual record into the export frame.

I had wanted to just drag the category tabs to the export, and keep my organization after the export.

Is there an easy way to do this?
Barring that, if I drag individual entries to the export, will they retain the categories they came from upon activating the module later?

In my experience 80MB is waaaaaaay too big.
You can do a few things....

BACKUP your Campaign directory.
Make another backup to another location
Export your DB as well....

Did I say backup?

First thing I would do is resize all my images to 40% jpg.
Resize all maps to 50px per 5' square for Indoor and Battle Maps
If that doesnt bring it under 20MB then...

Delete everything you dont want in the 1st export.... then Export as Module1
Restore Campaign from backup.
Delete everything you dont want in the 2nd export... then Export as Module2
etc

These are 2 options for you.

DISCLAIMER I havent seen your attachment - its still pending... and I did advise you to backup....

Loucifer, certainly damned is leading you in the right direction. If you want some advice on how to break everything up, PM me (in terms of what to put where - damned already covered the how).

I was afraid it would have to be done the hard way. As for backups, got that covered.

As for the resizing of images, i'll have to look into that, im "paint program impaired" LOL

JohnD, I plan on breaking it up into the original modules, T1-4 as it were. was just hoping that the export function would retain the organization.

mr paint program impaired - you cannot hide from this stuff forever! it will make your life much much easier!
download paint.net or gimp
gimps interface is far more intimidating but will have far more to give you if you find a way around your impairment .

simply open the imag file in the program you choose...
file -> save as -> filename-40.jpg and set the quality to 40%
open up the new image and see if its quality is acceptable - in my experience 40% retains plenty of quality and the players see whats inside their heads more than what on the screen anyway
furthermore if the image is NOT a map or battlemap then resize its physical dimensions to no more than 800px in any direction - any bigger is just slowing you down.

an image saved down to 40% quality might save you anywhere from 50-85% of the physical file size....
