Hi All.

I've just finished a weekend dungeon run in the Sunless Citadel. Lots of fun! Now its time for me to prepare the next adventure, and I want to follow the series, and set up the Forge of fury adventure. Does anybody have some nice maps for this adventure? I have the book, but the maps shows "S" at a secret door etc. and the idea of it being secret fates away when sharing the map to the PC's.

Any help is usefull!

Jokomotion - you will need to use your favourite paint/image app like paint.net/GiMP/photoshop etc.
You might find something to work with here: https://www.google.com.au/search?q="forge+of+fury"+maps&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X

Its not that hard to remove the Secret doors.

Oh - and welcome aboard!

Thank you for the link. I'm sure i can figure something out with one of these apps.

The maps I used for Sunless Citadel was very detailed, and im sure it gave an extra dimension to the session. So I still hope that someone can provide me with some awesome maps.

See fro 2:50 in Xorn's map re-scaling video - it shows you how to use a "clone" tool to remove unwanted info from a map - you can use this to close a section of wall that doesn't have the S on it over the section that does. There is a clone tool in many paint apps - I use the free GIMP which has such a tool.

The video is available here: https://www.fantasygrounds.com/filelibrary/tutorial/xorne-rescale-1a.wmv

I find Paint.NET easier to use than GIMP for simple clone stamping, but yes, I would say learn how to use that tool, and you should be able to cover those annoying S and T labels. There are a couple tutorials on map making that you could probably find with a search of the forums, but that is a little more ambitious. Still, I found that sometimes the really artistic maps were hard to clone stamp, so making your own might be easier (but not as pretty).

What program would you use to make your own? Also Paint.NET or GiMP?

80% of the maps look like square/grid rooms.
so I would make the bulk of it here: https://pyromancers.com/dungeon-painter-online/
You can also do irregular room shapes using pyromancers but not with quite as much effect.

another good source of maps is the old neverwinter nights computer game as almost all the famous dnd modules got converted and if you have the game and the conversion file it isn't hard to extract map from the in game editor. this agood link for the conversion https://neverwintervault.org/project/nwn1/module/3rd-edition-adventure-series-forge-fury

Some application options here: https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?20879-Map-Making-Software-summary

Personally, I use Campaign Cartographer - there's a learning curve to it, but you can produce quite good maps (the effects make the difference) after following a few tutorials (Joe Sweeney's videos are excellent).

Thanks, I found those earlier... and wanted to use them... but its only one map out the the 4 i need for the entire adventure, so I will have to make some of them myself. I think Pyromancers might be the way to go for me :-)

I use GiMP to make my own. It can be intimidating, but there are some helpful tutorials out there.

I really appreciate all the help, and the speed of it, in this forum. I tried a little with all the suggestions, not CC3 though, and I think Pyromancers suits my needs. Even though i would like very detailed maps, the step from the modulemaps to the pyro maps make a huge difference, and my limited sparetime taken in consideration, its super easy and fast. Thanks all. My gaming group is looking forward to it, though they have no idea :-)

Hi jokomotion,
I think that I can help you, a bit...

I am DMing a D&D 3.5 campaign which started on The Sunless Citadel. My group is now playing the Deep Horizon. Since the end of "Speaker in Dreams", I began to make my own maps, you can check for example The Temple of Pelor on my deviantart page: https://dhuend13.deviantart.com/art/Temple-of-Pelor-508293412

I have all maps made from The Standing Stone, The Heart of Nightfang Spire, and Deep Horizon. I'm working now on the next maps (Lord of the Iron Fortress and Bastion of Broken Souls). Unfortunatelly I dont have the maps for the Sunless Citadel and Forge of Fury, but in any case write me if you are interested on the others.
