View Full Version : Cut and Paste and Text Box

When copying text I can only insert the first line or two into a text chat box, no matter how many text lines I highlight.
Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong? I use CTRL and C and CTRL and V; is there another way, because I like the chat-box idea but having to type in loads of text from the PDF I am converting is a pain.
Cheers,
Booker.

mmmmI usually paste in the text first, Highlight it then make it a chat box. Also use the PDF reader that comes with WIN 8 it seems to work better for pasting into FG than Adobe

Open a blank story entry and paste the text there. Do you experience the same issue?
Generally when prepping a game I take all that text and put it into Story entries - it does mean an extra 10mins before game but is so much smoother at game time.

Probably line breaks in the paste. The chat text box will only convert a paragraph at a time. Pulling the text into a text editor that will allow you to quickly join lines up before pasting into Fantasy Grounds is a good idea. I use JEdit personally (CTRL-J joins lines together).

Even the Story entries let you use ctrl+j to rejoin erroneous line breaks.
