I believe those numbers only count FG purchased via Steam, so the vast majority of us here wouldn't be captured in those numbers. Still, nice to see growth.

It is tracking FG launched from the Steam client, and that might even rely on the Steam overlay being enabled too (I'm not 100% sure of that) which we recommend you disable. So, yeah, interesting, but ...

It's going to be interesting to watch this during FG-Con.

I'm contacting the person running that and see if they know whether it's tracked from launch of overlay.

Does FG on the Steam platform connect to players on different platforms?
There are many choices on Steam, which DLCs are recommended?

The version on steam will connect to all the other versions. You only need the DLC(s) for the game(s) you run. Players get the ruleset from the GM. Most people only run a few different RPGs, so those are the ones you would want.

If you are a GM you also might be interested in some additional tokens or maps.

What RPGs are you interested in running?

Edit: To be complete, if you are not planning on running a game, just playing in one - you don't need any DLCs.

Right on, nice system. I'll just join a game for now.

And the numbers have started jumping :)
It say's it's gone down ever so slightly in the last 30 days.

Nylanfs

I was just looking at the last 48 hours :)

To be honest, it's not particularly different from what it is normally - expand (or shrink) the timeframe and you'll see a very similar cyclical trend for the last few weeks, no real increase in the number of people at any one time.

Nylanfs

Hmm, I guess I just wasn't noticing the cycle. Well it should blow up next weekend. :)

I purchased it through steam last year and after using it for a while and making edits to campaigns and rulesets, I started launching it outside the steam client. It was driving my friends nuts to see me lauch FG, quit it, relaunch it, etc. Also, you can't run two instances of FG on the same rig if you are using it through the Steam Client. However, if you link directly to the FGSteamLauncher.exe in the steamapps directory, you can.

Tell your friends to get FG and start playing around with it to annoy you back, See everyone wins. :)

Well, I bought an Ultimate License so that they can play without buying it....but they all have it installed now. :D

Interesting indeed. Although I don't understand the statistics. How can the number of owners be fluctuating up and down every day? Can Steam owners stop their ownership? Why would they? This isn't tracking subscriptions as they are separate to Steam, so I'm confused where this statistic is coming from and how it's calculated.

Perhaps this explains it: "Steam Spy is still in alpha, so expect major bugs." ;)
