I created some tables and items in Fantasy Grounds for Numenera cyphers using the tables from the core book. Since cyphers can come in different levels, I made the table that determines the starting cypher(s) call out another table that has 6 levels of a Cypher on it. For example, if the main table rolls a 01, you then get an automatic roll on the Adhesion Clamps table that then spits out a link to whichever level Adhesion Clamps you get. So, yes, that means 6 versions of Adhesion Clamps in the item db.

Is there a better/easier way to do this?

You could link to the one version of Adhesion Clamps but in the Table Roll Description list the appropriate level?

I had made a table with the number of the cypher in the book, and a dice roll to determine the level of the cypher.

I originally had it so that it rolled a random starting cypher and then rolled for the level. By making an item for each possible level (1d6, or 1d6+2, for example), I guess I am making it slightly easier to know what the level is without the player manually updating the item in their character sheet. :)
