Hello there!
Today I got the Ultimate licence sub after confering with the players of my 2 campaigns.
The tool is awesome. I come from Roll20 and, as a GM with large, detailed campaigns it blows it out of the water. I miss the ability to play music (twitch can help there) and dynamic lighting, but if i've read correctly they're on the works.
I have one problem, though: Dice rolling sintaxys.
I may be dense, or maybe the syntaxis on the wiki is wrong... but I've not been able to use that syntaxis as described there to make a roll from a text field.
In 3.5 (campaign A) I just do [name of the weapon] [modifier] [damage type/range] ([dice]). It's all fine and dandy, but it just does not work on 5e (campaign B). I try to make an NPC and for his attacks I make an action. I can make damage work no problem (either with the syntax above or with [dice][modifier][damage type]).
So, would anyone help this FG-Noob?

hey jhoonidfool! welcome aboard.
i dont use 5e but if you post an example of what you are writing (even though its unsuccessful) it might be just a little bit clearer.

This is what I wrote for a thug. The damage part works. the attack, not.

1d20+5 melee; 1d6+2 bludgeoning damage.

5E uses a different syntax to 3.5E. Enter the attack with the same wording from the creature. e.g. Claws. Melee Weapon Attack: +3 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 3 (1d4 + 1) piercing damage.
