I posted in the other thread. There is a 2E ADD ruleset and you might also look at OSRIC since it recreates much of 1st Edition. Castles & Crusades is also very similar to earlier editions of D&D and it has very strong support with an official ruleset, and lots of official modules.

so there are no actual modules for 2E or AD&D because i know nothing about that Castles & Crusades and if it will work for our DM.

There aren't any data or adventure modules specifically for 2E or AD&D because Fantasy Grounds doesn't have an agreement with Wizards of the Coast to release such products and 2E and AD&D are not covered by the Open Gaming License which D&D 3.x was (hence why there are 3.5E modules with base Fantasy Grounds).

Castles and Crusades is very, very similar to AD&D - the classes, abilities, spells, XP, etc. are virtually identical (you wouldn't know the difference unless you combed through an AD&D players handbook - and then you'd see many similarities). The main differences are: AC doesn't go down, it goes up (more like later editions of D&D) and you have to match or exceed someone's AC in your attack roll to hit; Skill checks/ability checks are done using what is known as the "Siege check" (just a name for their skill/ability check rules) - you don't have to use it if you don't want to. there are quite a few Castles&Crusades GMs and Games going on.
If your GM is interested in having a chat or getting a demo Im sure we can arrange.

Also - here are some long(ish) videos at around 1h15mins to 1hr30mins taken from last FG Con where we did some hangout Intro sessions. I used the C&C ruleset for the first 3.

And here are some very short videos showing very specific things in the Castles&Crusades ruleset.

They are not great quality productions but the content is good.

If 2E is your game, and/or 2E "works" for your DM, then C&C will be like a walk in the park on a warm and sunny day to pick up and have everyone fully comfortable. It's such an easy conversion that calling it a "conversion" is really an injustice... spells and pretty well everything you have in 2E or AD&D can be brought over without much fussing around, same with monsters and magic items.

It's that good/close.

Here are the free quick start rules for C&C -- you can get a really great idea of what the system is all about by just browsing through these.
