Hi all,

Using manage characters for PFRPG and getting this error when I click on weapon attacks, damage & spell effects:

Script Error: [string"desktop/scripts/modifierstack.lua"]:241: attempt to index global 'control' (a nil value)

Only extension i am running is the remove extension.

I also had the missing ruleset error mentioned on another post originally, but ran an update and it fixed that error.

From what i can tell, the error is only showing up in manage characters - checked a campaign and not seeing the error.

Any ideas / fixes?

Manage characters usually doesn't let you roll dice from your character sheet. Some rulesets might, but most won't. Dice rolling to create the PC is included in some rulesets (the "Roll" tab of the chat window), but this still won't allow dice rolling in general. If you want to roll dice from your character sheet load it up in a GM session.

I'm also getting this error, but under entirely different circumstances. I get this in the actual VT environment whenever anyone clicks a dice rolling button. This could be on the combat tracker, character sheet, and so on. We're using the 5E ruleset and noticed this right after everyone updated to 3.0.10. I've even tried a new campaign, but we're still getting the errors there as well. I've disabled all extensions; the new campaign I created never used any.

Any ideas what I can try? I don't have time at the moment to do a fresh install, but that's the next thing I'll try if there's no other quicker things to try.

can you check if you have any unpacked CoreRPG or 5e rulesets in your %appdata%\fantasy grounds\rulesets folder?
also try deleting CoreRPG and 5e rulesets and let them redownload.

Yes!

I did have an unpacked 5E ruleset in that folder. I deleted it and both CoreRPG and 5E then re-downloaded and that did the trick. Thanks for the help!

My Pathfinder players are having the same issues tonight. They are deleting the CoreRPG and Pathfinder rulesets and then running updates again to see if that fixes it.

jshauber Medriza also had an UNPACKED/UNZIPPED ruleset in his rulesets folder and that was getting picked up.

I also saw it in a CoreRPG when I was running some extensions (sorry it was on another PC which I can't access at the moment to check which extension it was - for me it might have been a custom chat icon extension). Usual process - remove some extensions and see if it work...
