Please post comments on individual extensions in the specific extension thread (linked above) - please keep this thread for info on new/updated extensions. Thanks!

Developers - you're welcome to look at the code in these extensions as examples of how to develop your own extensions. Its polite to discuss with the original developer before reusing someone elses code. Some developers may no longer be active in the community so give them a couple of weeks to reply. If they don't respond you may then use their code (as long as the extension does not specifically say you can't). If you do use other people's code please mention the developer in your extension. Extension developers who don't want other people to use their code should say so in their extension.

Nice work! I'd recommend updating the version number that gets output to the chat window so that people will know if they have the right version. Then list the required extension version in the relevant thread - it's so easy for people to think they're running the right one but they're not...

Fixed the ruleset info and changed the version of the extension to 0.2 and to show the datacommon information

I've just uploaded a new extension.

The Effect Targeting Enhancement (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?24573-Effect-Targeting-Enhancement-(Extension)) adds the ability to automatically populate the "Effect Target" of effects, allowing for simpler use of abilities like Hex that modify damage one character does to another.

Currently compatible with FG 3.1.0.

It now shows as Optional Conditions V0.2 for the extension selection screen
Added a custom logo to the start up chat message.
Edited the Smiteworkks copyright to 2015.

Note: this update was strictly cosmetic, the previous version is still working , i just polished the bells and whistles.

In some future update, with this extension, could it be programed in that if a character puts "All" or some other key word under languages on their sheet, that the extension will let them translate and speak in any of the languages?

This would be great for characters who cast Comprehend Languages or Tongues (may be others). They would just have to add the Keyword under their languages. I'm not too worried about the spell's differences: Understanding only vs. speak & understand. Those can be done through role playing.

Feature update:

Added code for understanding all languages but can't speak them. Use a language name of "comprehend languages" or "understands all" on the character sheet. See post #1 for how to use this.
Added code for speaking all languages. Use a language name of "tongues" or "speaks all" on the character sheet. See post #1 for how to use this.
Added error handling for /setlanguage - needs two arguments to write to database. This avoids issues with blank entries.
/help slashhandler to return extension help.
Set default current language with /currentlanguage <language name>. See post #1 for how to use this.

Just launched for teh first time since the last update. I drop new versions of some of the extensions for both 5E and core. most show up but a few are not like the vitality ext. did I miss a step.

Yeah, you were right; my test was actually tainted by other files. It didn't load properly because of the directory structure in the extension file. I have fixed it and uploaded a new version. Thanks for pointing this out!

Now, the Effects window in Fantasy Grounds could have a scroll bar, because it can display a huge amount of (very helpful) preset conditions (inside gray text boxes), in rows, too long in size, far beyond the display capabilities. A scroll bar here would handle this difficulty, as it does in all the other cases.

A scroll bar here would handle this difficulty, as it does in all the other cases.
Note that this extension is no longer needed as the custom(my condition) custom condition tag is now available (See sworn enemy example in the 5E Effects wiki (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/wiki/index.php/5E_Effects#Conditional_Operators)). As such, the big list of custom conditions that was required previously (and will now appear as condition buttons) is no longer needed. And so there's no need for a scrollbar... :)

I will, once I've had the time to make it half decent, rather than just thrown together. Because there are a bunch of fonts that haven't been increased and I don't know if they can easily be increased without spending time looking.

Does anyone know if the shop/town extension from the 4e ruleset will work with the 5e ruleset?

I'm not sure, but the Locations Database Extension, which supersedes the Shop/Town Extension (and has for well over 12 months now), does work with 5E

I will, once I've had the time to make it half decent, rather than just thrown together. Because there are a bunch of fonts that haven't been increased and I don't know if they can easily be increased without spending time looking.

I think my Big Fonts one gets most of them...

Yeah, you've been using it with either my CSG Extension or my Alignment Graph Extension - there's a know incompatibility between them which has been fixed and will be in the new release (of each).

For the time being, don't load the CSG and/or the AG with the Weather Extension

I'm working as fast as I can to get things fixed, so please bear with me.

If you haven't been using either of these two Extensions with the Weather Extension, then please let me know - because that'll be a brand new bug I'll need to track down :)

This fixes most of the problems, but pre-built encounters with tokens on layers other than the top layer seem to be causing problems for me when I try to add them to the combat tracker.

Is it possible for someone among you amazing programmers to make an extension that lets you pick any image you set in a certain image folder and place it as a decal image. In other words all the user has to do is save the png or jpg into that folder and once you have the FG software up and running all you need to do is go to the settings( tools) on the right top side of the screen and select that decal as you do for the ones that come with the modules you purchase in the shop. (ex: HofDQ, DMG, PHB). You guys could even create this as a module in the shop. I am sure it would sell. Something that allows the DM to set his own decals would be amazing!

Hey Jeff (and other extension developers who are readin this) - how did you check your extension against v3.2? Did you test it or did you compare the new v3.2 code this is based on with the v3.1.7 code, or both? (Ideally both).

Sorry if you've already done this, I'll provide this info as a reference for all extension developers:

Quite often after an update an extension "appears" to work, but it might not be using the most recent FG code and so might be missing new functionality and/or bug fixes from the new FG code.

The best way to check if the FG code has changed is to keep copies of the FG files the extension was based on. I do this in the actual extension file itself - for example, if my code was based on code from the 5E manager_action_damage.lua file, I'd include the original file in my extension and call it something like "manager_action_damage - 5E v3.1.7.lua" (indicating it was the 5E ruleset, v3.1.7 file). Then, when a new version of the ruleset is released, I can come to my extension open that "manager_action_damage - 5E v3.1.7.lua" file and compare it with the new 5E ruleset "manager_action_damage.lua" file (there is a "compare" plugin for Notepad++ that will do this for you - and highlight the differences) - if they are the same, then I'm good as far as new FG code goes and can move on to testing the extension in FG itself. If there are changes, then I'll need to merge those changes into my extension and provide an update.

Hope that makes sense to FG extension developers. This is the first thing you should check after FG code updates - and then still do extension testing in FG just to be sure... :)

Sorry, the work of us extension developers is never over - we keep having to do checks/testing each time FG is updated. This is always the time I regret developing so many extensions! ;)

I did both. The function "modDamage" is the one I looked at to learn how to code up my extension, but my extension is not a modification to an existing code file, it is a new "postRollHandler". I did check to see that nothing in the underlying types changed, and the modDamage function for both 3.2 and the previous version I used are identical.

Thanks for the tip! I'll keep that in mind for the future. And I totally get the neverending work...I'm a software engineer by trade. ;)

You'll find all the links in the first post with notes on compatibility. Also the post about the extension itself should have compatibility notes. If they don't then the either haven't been tested or they aren't compatible.

There are very detailed instructions within the extension itself. Load it up and you'll find it in there.

If it is like the other DOE's I'm gaining familiarity with, the wiki page will have all the content of the guide (which as you found), is attached to the first post as a module next to the extension.

If Dulux has a flaw, it's that he you might say he over documents his extensions :)

If you want, you can add the extensions in my signature to the list. Window Saver is as fully functional as it can get and the 5E concentration extension should be in working order now, but you can list it as (Beta) or something like that.

Frankly, with the initial glance at the backwards compatibility breaking modifications in the 5e ruleset, this version should have been 3.4.0, not 3.3.2... Anyway, Effect Targeting Enhancement is not compatible with 3.3.2, and I have no clue when will I have enough time to patch it - as things look, it might actually need a complete rewrite from scratch... :(

Short answer: no.

You have to keep track of which extensions you use and then check the relevant extension threads to see if there is an updated extension available. This is really important after FG updates, as extensions usually need to be updated and can cause errors if you don't.

my idea is a shoping window where as a dm i can load what items howmany and at what cost into the store and then the players can buy the items and it auto takes the gold out

You can play sounds by TeamSpeak, tried it and worked for me, but there's no option to play sounds directly from FG this way.

Yep. Zacchaeus is correct. Although I use the DOE sound extension with syrinscape, I also use it with other sounds I have downloaded to my hard drive. You can use the extension to trigger any sound so long as you have a url. That url can be to a sound file on your hard drive or something like youtube.

You can put the exe anywhere that it can be called from. I put it there as that location is already in my PATH.
Yes copy the content into notepad and save as "All Files" and call it FGBackup.bat or FGBackup.cmd etc.
Check the paths are right for your computer.

You need to check the threads for each extension yourself to see if they are compatible with v3.3.6. This thread really just collects the threads into one place, it doesn’t guarantee compatibility with any version.

Does an extension exist to let players advance the combat order turn of a friendly NPC? IE they can end the turn when one of their summon's turns is over? This functionality is sorely lacking in FG.

Nope. Even if players have control of an NPC the DM must still advance the CT for anyone other than an actual PC.

It could be done though. The programmer would have to use messaging and advanced the turn on the GM side when the player hits the button.

They are all written for and work in Classic. Whether they work in Unity or not will depend on whether the author of the extension has updated it (if necessary). Some extensions will just work others will not.

I just recently downloaded this extension, but I noticed that as the DM I cannot make a permanent change to a character's maximum HP. I can change it in the CT, but then it shows as an Adjustment, rather than changing the actual maximum HP. Is this the intent, and if so is there any way that I can make permanent adjustments to the max HP as the DM? Also, with characters created prior to loading the extension it always displays a discrepancy in the chat window the first time the character sheet is opened after loading the campaign each time. I allow my players to have max HP for the first 3 levels, then after that they can roll on level up, but if the roll is less than the average, they can take the average instead.

Why would the players need a skills tab? If the DM wants the party to roll a save, ability, skill, or attack roll, it's on the party sheet already

I use it all the time as a GM and a Player in PF.. it gives you quick 'at a glance' info for who in the party is good at what.

I probably look at it at least once in every session.

Really only need it for metagaming purposes in 5e. It shouldn't really matter to the GM what the skills are because of bounded accuracy. Not something you have in PF/SF. I can understand why it is a "nice to have", though, but the simple reason it isn't there is because nobody needs it.

RFIA lets you choose what the player(s) or NPC(s) need to roll, but it doesn't show you what their skills are for those rolls. I find the extension hugely useful since it actually pops up what the player needs to roll for and they don't have to start flopping back and forth between sections of their character sheet.

New to trying to create custom extensions. I've been digging thru the few font extensions trying to figure out how to add a new font to use only for a custom language script. There are scripts for Elvish, Dwarvish, Abyssal and Infernal so I wanted to upload custom fonts to represent other languages as well. Can't figure it out, any ideas?

Evilrich, my SW5e extension adds 2 custom fonts for star wars languages. Binary (for droids) uses a morse code font. And the SW specific language, aurebesh, has its own font. A link to it should be below.
