Assistance with Steam Discussion Forums?

I am looking at joining a discussion on Steam's site. I just installed and updated FGII and activated it on Steam as well. It runs fine.

For whatever reason my account on Steam cannot post there for FG. I get this message:

'Your account is not allowed to post in Fantasy Grounds discussions.'

As of yet, haven't gotten much help there, was wondering if anyone here has gotten a similar issue and how they rectified it.

Do you have the family sharing feature turned on? I've had problems posting responses on things there in the past until I turned it off. I also had a problem for a while where I couldn't post anything in Steam directly, but I could go to the Steam website and navigate to the forums and post from there. There are no real restrictions from the discussion side that I'm aware of that would prevent you from posting a new topic or commenting on an existing thread.

Just curious, are you trying to post into "General Discussions" or into "Looking for Group"?

The Family View option is disabled.
I have no other accounts or computers to add to the Family Library Sharing. I did not see where to disable this.

I did start a new post in the Help about the issue. One suggestion was repurchasing the game via Steam, and that retail does not count and needs to be replaced, but the site shows it is activated.

I was attempting to respond to an existing thread under General Discussions. I cannot respond either via browser or through the Steam app itself or to any topic under General Discussions.

I'd be surprised if you had to repurchase the game through Steam instead of just activating it. It shows up in your Library of games, right?

I didn't see any Help section, so it had me wondering... unless you meant the general Steam help.

FGII shows up in my Licenses and Subscriptions as 'Fantasy Grounds Thirdparty Retail' with acquisition method 'Retail'.

I also felt repurchasing it via Steam was unnecessary and submitted a ticket to Steam Support.

Yes that is most likely it. I would find some small game that sounds interesting and buy that then you acct wouldn't be limited.



How can I gain access to all Steam features?

To access all features of Steam, simply do any of the following on your Steam account: purchase a game from the Steam store (It cannot be a gift for another account), redeem a Steam gift, or complete a microtransaction.
