I've started streaming my game on Twitch--I had a face-to-face game going when I lived in Kansas City, then I moved to Montana, and I'm back to playing over Fantasy Grounds!

This was a fun session, and we blazed through some combats thanks to FG! Note we were in Episode 5 of Hoard of the Dragonqueen so spoilers accordingly (though very little of the plot is revealed in this stream).

**ducks** I use skype and personally hate it for webcams since I always have to resize on stream. Roll20 makes it a set block at the bottom is the reasoning behind it I think. Would love to see some FG integration down the road with a video/chat client

ooooh hmm Ive been looking for an alternative for so long to get all the webcams laid out uniform so i can add them to my stream.. roll20 might just be it at least for the cams.. so the audio would go through TS or something?

Vishera: We use Roll20 for the audio & video. Before that we used RaidCall (free voip, remotely hosted). But with Roll20 we get our webcams along with our names and characters attached to the feed. We were using Google Hangouts, but Roll20 ended up looking better. If a character drops during the stream and reconnects, i don't have to fix the names, which I like.

I love the look. How are u both lining up the roll 20 webcam on top of the fantasyGrounds app and then streaming?

First I host the game on my desktop. Then on my laptop I connect (with an old player client) and maximize it. I then connect with Roll20 on both (my webcam on the desktop, the FG logo on the laptop), so that the stream hears the voice feed. I use OBS to stream with. Base layer is the FG window (player view) and I adjust the chat window so the party window and combat tracker are all on the left 1/3 of the screen and leave the rest for maps/images. Then the I use a window capture across the bottom of the Roll20 window on the laptop and layer that over the bottom of FG, covering up hotkeys and modifier stack, which see no use on the "observer" client. Then to the right of that I have our "character cards" that I made real quick in gimp. Across the top is our marquee/crawl, and then I use TeeBoard to have the twitch chat overlay in the right 1/4 of the screen when active, but fade out after 30 seconds.

Took awhile to find the setup I really liked, but I'm very happy with it now.

We used to use Google Hangouts for the webcams, but Roll20 the ability for each person to just adjust their handle and have it below their feed really works well.

I'm pushing the session up to my YouTube right now. Of the original six characters that started the campaign, only one of them is still with the party after tonight. Four of them have died over the last 7 levels, and one player had to bow out for a new job. Tonight was our first character instant death...
