I added a new page to the *FG Con* website. *Free Downloads!*. https://www.fg-con.com/free-downloads/ and Ive started adding a few things up there... So far *Pulp Tokens* and three free themes *StarCraft2*, *Egyptian* and just now *Space Opera*. Your welcome to use them as you see fit - and feel free to dissect them and see how they work and make your own. I have a few others in varius stages of completeness... ok, ok, so Im procrastinating a bit with Paranoia and Maelstrom!

Is there a way to use these with 5th edition ?

I opened a new game , but alas extensions were not available.

Thanks... I knew I missed something...
These themes are not complete theme replacements - you will still have many of the current 5E theme elements on open windows - eg Combat Tracker.
Ive reuploaded them for 5E as well now.

@Mask_Of_Winter

Graphics are from some clip art sets, shields and backgrounds too.
I usually apply some degree of transparency to the shield/tile and place the Graphic on top.
I have a couple more sets in progress...
If you want something let me know...

unzip the files and look thru them - they are fairly simple.
extension.xml specifies what rulesets it works with and what other files it calls/loads
the other files like graphics_frames.xml specify the graphics to load for each of those named instances that CoreRPG is expecting

For starters, just open up the desktop_background.png file, respect the same proportions and superpose your own graphics over it if you use an image editor that allows layers. If it's just a wallpaper than just keep the same dimensions. Replace the desktop_background.png file with the one you just made in the ext. Make sure it's named the same. Wrap it up, fire up FG and check it out.

@djmaxx - what zip application did you use to zip that file up? It looks like this was compressed as a 7z archive, not as a ZIP archive - you need to make sure you compress with .zip compression.

I re-compressed with ZIP compression - see the attached file, this should work.

Thanks for doing these Djmaxx - one question: are the images you're using copyright free or do you have permission to distribute them publicly?

Djmaxx
January 6th, 2015, 06:07
Anything found on a google search is ok to use as long as your not charging for it.

I'm afraid that is completely incorrect. Just because people have posted images/material on the internet does not mean it is copyright free - and if someone is breaking copyright to post material on the internet that doesn't mean that it is suddenly copyright free and anyone can use it.

You can use said material for personal use only, but you can't distribute it to others - even if you don't charge for it.

See this blog post here: https://www.sla.org/using-google-images-think-about-copyright-permissions/

"Bottom line: Never assume that online images are free for the taking. Do your research. When necessary, obtain permission before using the image or photo."

Well as for copyrights on the first and third they are fine cause a friend of mine made them and he wont care if i use them. The second one not to sure about... im not even sure how to get permission if it is copyright protected.

Everything is protected by copyright. If your friend did images 1 and 3 he can give you permission. If you dont have permission for the other you can use it for your own use but you cant reshare it here.

Really like th mini pics, can't wait to try at home.

Hey, any chance you know if can take that cool ?default? 5e "leather desktop" background but use everything else from the WotC theme (or for that matter another if I see one I like"?

I'm not sure if I can ask you to mix em because both are likely ip of 2 diff entities, but perhaps the info on how to move the leather background to another theme like WotC?

The Space Opera theme doesn't seem to work with Savage Worlds. Is there something I'm not doing right? Thanks.

damned
October 30th, 2016, 06:44
It doesnt have the Savage Worlds ruleset tags in it. Also Savage Worlds does some things differently with sidebars and Chat Window. Ill be updating these sometime after 3.2.0 comes out and Ill add SW support but this is nowhere near the top of my to do list...

Damned, will the themes "work" in 3.2 and just lack the additional buttons or should we stay away until you have the opportunity to update? I'm interested in using the space opera with your new morecore ruleset, but don't want to inadvertently introduce bugs if that's premature. And somewhat related - is the custom decal extension and tutorial still applicable with the introduction of 3.2?

November 6th, 2016, 21:21
The themes should work but be incomplete as you suggest.
The tutorials should still be valid.
I will update these themes but I cant see it happening inside a month.... :(

Thanks and understood on the timing. Just an fyi, the themes do not currently work with the new morecore ruleset.

Thats probably due to missing ruleset tags - thanks for the heads up.

just grabbed your egyptian theme damned after finally getting to grips with FG to the extent I am now teaching classes, DM'ing and adding my own stuff to it. It's brilliant - really sharp, thanks for sharing!

These are very old now and are missing many new items.
You are welcome to pull apart and use in any way that helps.
