Hello folks, I just finished building a basic map tile pack for those of us who likes to build our own RPG maps. I've released the pack on my web site. The pack consists of a number of tiles that can be assembled together into passageways, large or small rooms, passageways with steps, etc. check it out and let me know what you think.

The dungeon map tiles pack now has a companion pack of flooded dungeon map tiles to go with it. This second pack will let players flood parts of their dungeon maps and force players to swim for the loot or fight aquatic monsters!

The packs are in the "Digital RPG Maps" category. Or you can follow these links:

I have not written an article about the map tiles yet as I plan to release a Detailed Map Tiles pack with special detailed map tiles, such as sewer grates, trap doors, staircases, water/sewer gutters, platform edges, etc. When I have done that I plan to write a little article about the whole lot and that article will join the others on the home page.

How many tile types are in the Dungeon Map Tiles package?
What's the format? PNG?

And, by the way, is PayPal allowed payment option?

there are 66 file pieces.
no diagonal or curved walls but otherwise a good selection for dungeon building.
paypal is the only option i think.

Each of the tiles are displayed in the sample images on the web site. The files are JPG's themselves. At the moment I only have paypal. But I'm also looking at Stripe.

I've wraped all of the map tiles packs up into one jumbo zip file and posted it on RPGnow.com (https://www.rpgnow.com/product/141431?affiliate_id=81229&src=FantasyGrounds_Forum). So now you can get the whole lot in one pack, or if you already own one of the smaller packs, just grab the zip's your missing from my studio store (https://www.wyldfurr.com/index.php/all-portfolio-list/dungeon-map-tiles/?utm_source=Fantasy%20Grounds%20Forum&utm_medium=Forum%20Post&utm_term=Dungeon%20Map%20Tiles&utm_content=Dungeon%20Map%20Tiles&utm_campaign=Dungeon%20Map%20Tiles%20Discussion). Plus all of the packs now include the 180 pixel square map tiles and 50 pixel square map tiles.

Hello folks, I have just finished a new little add-on map tiles pack that gives you access to map tiles that have been designed to complement my current range of Dungeon Map Tiles. This pack (https://www.wyldfurr.com/index.php/product/dungeon-map-tiles-surface-buildings/?utm_source=Fantasy%20Grounds&utm_medium=Forum%20Post&utm_term=Surface%20Buildings&utm_content=Surface%20Buildings&utm_campaign=Surface%20Buildings) includes tiles that you can use to build walls on a grassy surface so that you can build an entrance to your mysterious dungeon! Plus the pack includes a set of roof tile sections.

Taliz - as usual - these are wonderfully done.
Thank you Damned.

To make things even better I have just finished another add-on pack for the Dungeon Map Tiles. This time I focused on expanding the tiles to give Game Masters a range of tiles for adding round towers (https://www.wyldfurr.com/index.php/product/dungeon-map-tiles-round-tower/?utm_source=Fantasy%20Grounds%20Forum&utm_medium=Forum%20Post&utm_term=Round%20Tower&utm_content=Round%20Tower&utm_campaign=Round%20Tower) to their dungeons. The new pack contains a number of combined map tiles (eg: a single map tile that is actually two or three map tiles together). I did this as the round walls make things a little tricky if all you have is a single tile. Plus the tiles are saved as PNG with transparency so that you can overlay the outer tower walls around the spiral staircase tiles.

https://www.wyldfurr.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/facebook-round-tower.jpg (https://www.wyldfurr.com/index.php/product/dungeon-map-tiles-round-tower/?utm_source=Fantasy%20Grounds%20Forum&utm_medium=Forum%20Post&utm_term=Round%20Tower&utm_content=Round%20Tower&utm_campaign=Round%20Tower)

How would someone be able to use these in FG? Wouldn't mind the tiles if I knew how to make them into a hallways or room I wanted and then import the map into FG. Anybody care to make a video or a tutorial for taking tiles like these and making an importable map from it without owning some expensive graphics program? Would be appreciated by many I think.

I haven't tried this personally, but if you're using CoreRPG, you could use these in conjunction with the Enhanced Images Extension and build your map by placing these tokens on the bottom layer. However, I find that running the Enhanced Images extension all the time is a little annoying because of how it deals with the shortcut pins and so forth.

Could you also just paste these into your favorite image editor (GIMP, Paint.NET, etc.), with grid snapping applied? Then save the final image into the campaign images directory and go.

Note that I'm just throwing out theories, I haven't actually tried doing either of these.

Thats how Taliz suggests.
When I use them I start with GIMP and get them all on one page and export that image and then I use Tiled to make my maps. Much quicker.

You can import all of the individual files directly into tiled map editor (https://www.mapeditor.org/) (no need to put them all on one page first) it's pretty quick and then you can knock out maps with these pretty quickly.

Just to let you all know, I have added all of the expansion packs into the Dungeon Map Tiles (https://www.rpgnow.com/product/141431?affiliate_id=81229&src=FG-Forum) pack that is on RPGnow.com. So you can get the whole lot in one bundle instead of several little separate little packs. For those of you who already own a few of the little packs and don't want to get the larger pack, the smaller packs will still be available via the Studio WyldFurr store (https://www.wyldfurr.com/index.php/all-portfolio-list/studio-store/?utm_source=Fantasy%20Grounds%20Forum&utm_medium=Forum%20Post&utm_term=Dungeon%20Map%20Tiles&utm_content=Forum%20Post&utm_campaign=Dungeon%20Map%20Tiles). That way you can just pick up the packs your missing instead of having to buy the whole thing.

Don't forget this also means that the Game Masters Starter Set (https://www.rpgnow.com/product/141474?affiliate_id=81229&src=FG-Forum) also includes this update.

Hello JerryRig. The whole idea behind the Map Tiles is this: Using an image editor (such as GIMP, or Photoshop, or whatever app you like), you can assemble the map tiles (each of the square images) together to form a map. Once your happy with your map, you then save out the whole image as a jpg that you can then drop into the Fantasy Grounds campaign folder.

You don't use the Map Tiles themselves in Fantasy Grounds, just the image of the map you make with the map tiles.

As for image editing software, you don't need to use an expensive software like Photoshop (which I have because I'm a professional artist). Instead you can use free software such as GIMP.

I haven't tried this personally, but if you're using CoreRPG, you could use these in conjunction with the Enhanced Images Extension and build your map by placing these tokens on the bottom layer. Pasting the Map Tiles into a larger image file in an image editor is exactly how these map tiles are intended for use. The whole idea is, use these little tiles to build a big map, and then save the big map for use.

Have you tried any of the larger tiles? For example the window tiles (which are 2x1) or the round tower tiles (which are 2x2)? I ask because I am curious if some tile mapping software chews on those larger tiles correctly?

The larger tiles were a necessity because of the artwork, eg: the window in the wall crosses over between the outer wall (on one tile) and the inner wall (on another tile).

I just hope some mapping software does not squish those larger tiles.

If you have the pack from RPGnow, you have everything.

I keep the smaller packs in the Studio Store so that people who already picked up a few of the packs before the big pack went on to RPGnow - can just get those packs without having to buy the big pack.

At this point in time, I am not planning to add more tiles in this style. But I am planning to add more map tiles in a different style (maybe a cave or another Dungeon style). This might become a second Dungeon Maps II set, or a Caves set, or maybe a City Set... it is all up in the air at this point. But the current Dungeon Map Tiles pack, is wrapped up. If I make something new, it will be a new pack.

I am working on a project that has cross over to the VTT Map Tiles - I'm working on a Print Version map tiles set for release via DriveThruCards.com. These will be 6 inch square map tiles (https://www.behance.net/wip/1091283) that you can build dungeons with for table top gaming.

As for suggestions, I'm always open to suggestions. While requests is a bit tricky, at time point in time I have so little time up my sleeve to devote to requests that I as a rule, don't take requests as I don't want to disappoint people when I just don't end up with the time to do their requests.

* Note I underlined planning above, which means I might not plan to, but there is always a chance I might get inspired and do something special. :)

I don't know about using the map tiles in Paint, since Paint is such a basic art program I don't think it would work too well. But I have never tried it. I would just download GIMP, it is free.

When I make maps, I save out the finished map as a single JPG. You could save it out as a PNG, but I think JPG gives better image compression. I only save out things as PNG if I want to keep transparency.

Remember how I wrote a little while ago, that I was not planning to add more map tiles to this set. The un-planned for update has just happened! I've just made a number of diagonal walls and passageway map tiles (https://www.wyldfurr.com/index.php/product/dungeon-map-tiles-diagonal-walls/?utm_source=Fantasy%20Grounds%20Forum&utm_medium=Forum%20Post&utm_term=Dungeon%20Map%20Tiles%20Pack%205&utm_content=Dungeon%20Map%20Tiles%20Pack%205&utm_campaign=Dungeon%20Map%20Tiles%20Pack%205) in this style of map tile.

If you have been picking up the pre-production map tile packs from the Studio Store, you can get this pack of diagonal walls and passageways for just $1 from the Studio Store.

If you have splashed out and picked up the Jumbo Pack from RPGnow.com (https://www.rpgnow.com/product/141431?manufacturers_id=2143?affiliate_id=81229&src=FantasyGrounds_Forum), all you need to do is re-download the jumbo pack as these map tiles are included in the jumbo pack.

Many thanks to everyone who has purchased one of the packs, your support is greatly appreciated.

I didn't make them at first because the way I was planning to do it, would have been too cumbersome and a big multi-tile piece. But these are ok - although the 45 degrees passageways are a bit thin, but that is what happens when you directly draw off lines from the doorways.

Hello friends, it is Tailz from Studio WyldFurr here with a little update to the Dungeon Map Tiles (https://www.rpgnow.com/product/141431?affiliate_id=81229&src=FG-DMT) package. This update adds a set of new "Wall Overlay" tiles to the set. These wall overlay tiles are in line with our current map building technique of having the floor and wall art separate to give you the map builder greater flexibility when building maps.

To get the update, just download the updated zip file. The specific changed files are inside a folder called "Wall Overlay"

There are also some staircase tiles that have the walls removed as well.

Happy map building!
