Hello all.

I was just wanting to know if there was/is any plans to have any type of dynamic lighting for FG? I would love to be able to use something like this as a GM.

this ones been asked for alot. It might happen once the move over to Unity (new engine) happens. You can use the mask to unmask and remask areas as the players move around. In the mean time vote here for it (and any other features you would like)

Ok, I did some voting (thank you for that link) but that leads me to what else you said- " It might happen once the move over to Unity (new engine) happens". So is FG going to basically be rebuilt or something? If so, do I loose all my campaign info I have now?

The first steps are to reproduce current functionality in Unity. The theory being that everything that works now, works in Unity.

Some info here: https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?22089-Fantasy-Grounds-Unity-engine

There's also a screenshot and some info on how it's going in the FG Facebook timeline on October 16th: https://www.facebook.com/fantasygrounds/photos/a.10151825441731630.1073741830.199230241629/10152429881791630/?type=1

But of course the important word is "theory". But I would imagine that the campaign info would transition seamlessly.

Short unofficial answer is not right now, but I'm guessing it will be seriously studied after the Unity rewrite is stabilized. So in a year or so at the very minimum, probably more like two.
