We all did the upfront license for Unity which includes an upgrade to the next version when it releases. It will be interesting to see how things shake out though.

It is interesting, despite the media hype over potential sale of the company and platform, Unity are still continuing to innovate, releasing new products (Unity 4.6 Beta) as well as introduce new complimentary services (Unity Cloud Build).
