And that question is, if it's possible to have spells in pathfinder automatically hit a certain number of squares in a variable shape patter, I did some googling and searching on the forums an answer but didn't find any topics referring to it.

So is there a way to have a fireball hit all the targets in a 20ft radius of its impact location ? What sprung the question was monsters with aura abilities that do pulsing damage each round (like burning skeletons) and thinking how nice it'd be if I could create a damage effect that would go off automatically, OR at the very least create a button for me to hit that would just hit anything adjacent to said monster/character/object with the aura.

Targeting for area of effects is manual. (I.e. Select token and CTRL click on each target.)

You can also use the targeting toolbar button to set targets by box or region (SHIFT).
