I hope I don't sound like an idiot. But this system is rather confusing. I'm still swimming through the tutorials. But I'd like to see if there is any game going on for beginners such as myself that is meant to help understand this. I'd like to see this first hand and how it works if able to.

You might have to wait a few weeks until some of the intro sessions at FG Con (see my signature for a link).

Which pen-and-paper Role-Playing games are you interested in?

I'm running a game of Yggdrasill, a norse mythology game set in Scandia before the Viking era. It's on Friday evenings at 8pm UK time. Not sure where you are from your post, but you are welcome to join in if you're available. There's pre-gen characters available.

Im in central time. I live in TN, USA. And I am usually free any time in the late afternoons or at night. I am currently changing jobs, so I'm not sure if they will have me on nightshift or dayshift, but once I figure that out I will be able to tell a more accurate time that I'm free.

This FG CON. I am guessing it's all done online? Not a meetup type thingy? And if so, you said they offer beginner games for people who are trying to learn the system?

FG Con = Fantasy Grounds Con, so it is 100% online using Fantasy Grounds. Check out the events list, there are a number of sessions specifically targeted for people wanting to learn Fantasy Grounds and/or a specific system: https://www.fg-con.com/events/

Here is a set of pretty basic 2-7min long videos.
All up the 12 videos take 53mins so its easy just to watch the one you need or to rewatch when you forget something.

And yes - there are some sessions purely designed as intro sessions for GMs and Players - these dont actually have gaming in them - they are quick start intros into the user interface and how to do the most common tasks and a bit of Q&A.

If you want to concentrate on the Call of Cthulhu ruleset, I'm happy to help you if we can find a mutually convenient time. Are you looking at GM or player side?

Thank you all! You are all very helpful. :)

And, Valarian, that would be great! I'm interested in being a player at the moment because I still don't know enough about CoC to run a game. I'm pretty new to both CoC and DnD. I play a DnD game in real life with a few friends, but only as a player. Do you have Skype? I'd love to try playing sometime and figuring a few things out.
