Downloading The Extension
This Extension and its accompanying Documentation can be downloaded from the links at the bottom of this post.

Loading The Extension
This Extension is loaded exactly like all other Fantasy Grounds Extensions - by first copying the .ext file to the Extensions Folder under the Fantasy Grounds Folder and then re-starting Fantasy Grounds. If the Extension is compatible with the currently installed version of a given Ruleset it will be displayed in the Extensions List for that Ruleset and can be loaded by clicking on the Checkbox next to the Extensions name.

If the Extension has large red 'X' next to its name in the Extension List then the Extension or an Extension that this one is dependent upon is not compatible with the chosen Ruleset. Make sure that you have downloaded and installed the latest copy of this Extension and any Extensions this one is dependent upon.

When Fantasy Grounds Updates
After a Fantasy Grounds version update you should verify that all Extensions (not just this one) have been either updated themselves or verified by the Extension author that they work with the new version of Fantasy Grounds. If you have any issues with Fantasy Grounds after an update then it is best to disable all Extensions and then re-enable them one by one until the issue re-appears.

Give me a second, I've only just posted the damn thing :p

Actually, the Screen Shots are going to have to wait for a day or two - sorry, I'll get them done but I've got a couple of things to do first (sleep, for one) - my PCs down at the moment and I'm working on a Laptop with a small resolution screen.

This is awesome!

I seem to ave a problem though. No matter how many times I hit the "generate today's weather button", I get Precipitation = None, and special Weather = None.

Edit: This is on the second days weather. On the first day's weather, I always get "None" and "Galelasting for 6hours" respectively.

Note: The lack of a space in "Galelasting" and "6hours" is intentional. It's a typo in the weather extension.

OK, I've found the two bugs (thanks for letting me know) - I missed that particular combination in my testing - sorry.

I'll get a update patch out ASAP, but it might take me a day of two (work, etc)

In the meantime, I've pulled the Extension file from this thread because the issue is big enough I'd rather do that then have others experience any problems.

Thanks

Can't wait to give it a try! I've been a bit hesitant to dive into your awesome extensions, mainly because I'm afraid to sink too much game dev time into any tech that I can't replace with something else, especially when they aren't core FG modules/functionality. But you're making it harder and harder to... resist the temptation... of... shiny... awesome... RPG coolness! *wipes sweaty brow*

Hi Guys,

OK, I've uploaded v1.0.1 onto the first Post in this Thread - my apologises for the delay.

I've gone over it as well as I can, but it's such a complex piece of code there is still the possibility that there is a particular combination of Weather from the Previous Day, the Next Day, and all of the variables feeding in to the calculations that I might have missed something - ie there still could be a bug (or two). Please let me know if you find anything.

Incidentally, Special Weather only occurs if the first two Die rolls total 2 or 12, and then only if other input variables also align - in other words, Special Weather is pretty rare, but it does occur.

Anyway, enjoy

I just got asked this by PM, and I thought it was important enough to cross-post here as well:

Hi dulux-oz

I'm guessing 5E isn't a child ruleset of core, rather a bother/sister, so wont work correctly?

As far as I'm aware (ie I just had a look) the 5E Ruleset is built on the CoreRPG Ruleset, which would make it a child-ruleset :)

So yes, this Extension should work fine with 5E - and 4E, 3.5E, PathFinder and Numenera.

I have been using it for my rise of the Runelords campaign & it was worked well - it even led to an interesting random encounter when I rolled torrential storm & a encounter with wild horses - it turned into the pcs caught up in a stampede of panicked brumby's...

Since the precon update it's not working anymore - in my session last night it showed "error" - each time I tried to roll.

Any way of changing the temp to fahrenheit?

Check out the Documentation in the first three Posts of this Thread and on the Wiki as well - in particular post #3 in the section on Options (RTFM :p ) - basically, if you open up the FG Options than there is a new section titled Weather: one of the options is to set the Temperature Measure to Celsius or Fahrenheit.

OK, I can't find that line in that file - neither the current version (the one I'm about to release) nor my achieved copy of Version 1, nor the Extension that I just download from this thread(v1 again).

Some questions:
1) Did you get the Extension from this Thread or did you get it from someone else?
2) Have you unpacked the EXT file and then changed anything (even by accident)? - think hard about this.

Some courses of action
1) Download the EXT file from this thread again and place it in the Extensions folder. Reload FG with the extension and then do whatever it was you were doing to re-cause the error.
2) Send me the EXT file you are currently using ([email protected]) along with a full description of what you were doing at the time to cause the error.

This is a puzzler, mainly because that line doesn't exist in the file the error message is reporting - actually, it doesn't exist at all.

Try out the above and I'll see about getting to the bottom of things

Good point (go ahead and check it out), but unlikely in this case - that's the Weather Manager file and the error is a syntax error - I can't dream of another extension even being able to do that to an LUA file inside an Extension - but, of course, I could be wrong. :)

Ok i reloaded the ext.

And it works fine.

I emailed you the old extension i got from the wiki ( i believe ) . I have never unpacked it or changed it. It did at one time work fine , but now gives that error just before Fantasy Grounds finished loading.

I also turned off all other extensions , and i got the same error when using that .ext file.

The new download is working fine.

Thanks for the extension , very useful.

OK, I've had a look at the EXT file you sent me and when I go to unpack it the LUA which was giving you the error fails it CRC Check - in other words, its become corrupted AFTER you downloaded it - BTW the wiki entry leads back to the forum thread, so there is only one copy of the Extension available for download :)

As a ICT Security specialist I'm worried that SOMETHING on you computer caused the corruption - like a virus or something. You might want to give your system a thorough scan with at least TWO anti-virus products (eg AVG Anti-virus and McAfee) and then go over the system with TWO anti-malware products (eg Spybot and MalwareBytes). On the grounds that the corruption was not caused by malicious software you might want to do a deep scan of your Hard Drive for errors as well.

I'm glad things are working for you now and I'm glad you like the Extension.

Let me know if you find anything on you system

If it's a reasonably modern drive (made in the last decade or so) it should automatically remap bad sectors.

Yeah, but I've still seen too much data loss and corruption to want to rely on "automagic" solutions.

It has just been brought to my attention that my Alignemnt Graph and Campaign Style Graph Extensions may cause this Extension to not work properly.

I apologise for this, and will have the issue resolved ASAP in the new version of the Weather Extension.

In the meantime, all I can suggest is to (at the moment) not use these two Extensions with the Weather Extension.

Only if you are running the Extension with one of the new ones at the same time.

If you'd care to elaborate on what is happening (eg, Celsius or Farenhight, and what are the actual Temperatures, and what are the 6 Die Roll Values and other conditions) I'd appreciate it as I'm testing the new version now and that type of feedback is "a good thing" - thanks :)

By "running the Extension with one of the new ones at the same time" do you mean two weather extensions at the same time? If so, that is not the case.

In the attachment, you can see the problem I stand against. Summer solistice is set properly, as is approximate latitude of Kingdom of Nyrond. I can't set tilt to 30 degree which is Oerik's tilt as far as I remember, but that's not important. I get temperatures over 40 Celsius (104 degrees Fahrenheit) during Fireseek, which is sth like February. The temperatures are between 35-45 all the time. In fact, the month is irrelevant. The temperatures in Nyrond are always over 30 degree Celsius.

As you can notice, I even changed overall planetary temperature to "Freezing", thinking how maybe it will correct something, but this setting does not seem to have any influence at all. I wonder what I did wrong?

Example of dice values: 5, 4, 1, 5, 4 (d8), 1, 5; but no matter what te values are, temp is to high.

October 19th, 2015, 07:51
OK, so I've tracked down the issues (Kane) - sorry it took so long. There was a small logic bug is a minor piece of unrelated code which, unfortunately, was called by the weather engine and so the system had the incorrect value for when the Summer Solstice actually was. Therefore the engine thought the days in question were somewhere in the middle of summer (not winter) - hence the "very hot" winter temperatures.

Sorry about that - the fix is in the new v2 scheduled to be released Soon(TM) - literally as soon as I can get it out the door (ie I'll be releasing Locationsv4 and Weatherv2 on the same day, them being so interrelated).

Again, I apologize for the mistake.

if I click on a location name it stops until I type a single letter, and then starts again, I can click it again and it stops and allows me to write another letter, basically if I have any of the text boxes ready to type in its stopped, but as soon as I click off it, the error spams.

I'm giving everyone an early Christmas Present - A new version (v2) of the Extension has been attached to post #1. Please note the dependency that this new version has on the DOE Base Extension.

This is really great work!

It may be user error, but I'm not seeing an effect on the rolled temperature for the different temperatures on the Details tab. No matter if it's Freezing or Normal or Boiling, the rolled temperature range seems to stay in the same ballpark (depending, it seems, on how many days out the current day is from the summer solstice?).

Would it be too weird to just put "seasons" in place? I'm not a big user of the calendar modules, but I'd like to say "this is a summer day" or "this is an autumn day" and get some appropriate results. Or should I just set the solstice and kind of work around that?

Let me take a look, but from memory those settings only shift things by a relatively small amount

Edit:
OK, egg-on-face time: Those setting actually aren't "turned on" yet - the rudimentary code is there to have the desired effect, but its not active. I suspect I got distracted by something else and never got back to it, but thought that I had.

So, sorry about that - I'll get it sorted after Christmas and get it released asap.

so I took the old.ext file out of my directory, then added the new ones because the file names were different. I loaded my Module maker campaign and got that error. Any ideas?

It's the Alternate Colour Gizmo v2.1 causing the errors below:

OK, first of all, that Extension wasn't listed in Post #72 - obviously you missed it, but without all the info its very hard to solve any issues :)

Second, that Extension is no-longer supported and does not work with the current DOEBase (as per Post #24 of the Alt Colour Gizmo Thread ) - the functionality of the Alternate Colour Gizmo has been subsumed into the DOEBase.

So, you don't need to load the Alternate Colour Gizmo and things won't work properly if you do.

Hey Dulux-oz, I am thinking this will be my first extension setup after done with 2nd Par5e tutorial. In anticipation of that and with disclosure that haven't downloaded so the answer may be in the oft-elusive documentation:

I see lots of stats-y science-y thingamabobbies... Is there any info I will need that isn't in some FSA etc regarding inputting faerun data to use this? Will be starting in Moonsea and mid-sword coat (2 groups)

Hi Varsuuk,

Maye, I'm not quite sure I understand what your asking - the Weather Extension is designed to be Ruleset-neutral, meaning that you can enter data in for any world, and provided the data entered is correct (and you use the defaults if you don't have an explicit piece of data) then the calculations will work. So you can use this for FR (or Greyhawk, or Tatooine, or whatever) and it should be fine.

All the other info about the various entries in the record are described in the Manual (Post #1).

Is that what you wanted to know?

Hm. I was getting this before, so I updated to the new version, just in case it was some product of having the older plugin, but it doesn't seem so. Does anyone else notice this plugin seems to favor extremely cold weather?

I'm rolling for a temperate region, at around 30 latitude, and have tried plains, coast, hills, and so on, but for some reason, it is almost always sleeting with freezing temperatures. I've checked my calendar settings, which use my campaign's custom calendar (a 336 day calendar made of up twelve 28-day months) and the current date is late spring, with just a month or two left until the Summer Solstice.

Even setting it to a tropical region at coastal level still seems to produce highs below 40 degrees nine out of ten times.

Any ideas?

Hi Everyone,

I've finally gotten a copy of the 5E WotC Theme so I can "rework" all of the DOEs to make them fit the theme better.

But now I need to get some appropriate graphic - if someone could do me up some 5E WotC-style graphics for this Extension (and any of the other DOEs) I'm sure I and the rest of the Community would be very grateful.

For that matter, if the graphics of any of the DOEs aren't quite right for your favorite Ruleset then if you'd like to do some up I'll incorporate them into the next release of the relevant DOE.

Thanks - and spread the word to your RPG GM-friends about the DOEs if they're not using them already. :)

I got it corrected.

I'm not sure what happened, but after removing all previous entries from the weather plugin (These entries were generated across several versions, so it is possible they were affecting each other or the plugin with dead links to locations, data, or else), and making a brand new entry, it seems to be rolling appropriate numbers, now.

I've decided to make the raw files that make up this and the other DOEs available via Bitbucket and Git. So if you're a fellow dev, know how to drive a Git-client (btw I prefer GitKracken) and would like to contribute and/or help beta-test the DOE Updates before they go live then feel free to contribute via Git and Bitbucket.

Please see the first post in this Thread for details.

Hi Dulux-Oz,
I found one error when oppening "Figure 2 link" in Manual for Weather (it oppens Blank gray picture template without content).
- Part - Extension Details - Accessing The DOE: Weather System - second paragraph Figure 2 (link)
First Figure works but this second doesn't work :(

- In MAIN tab of Weather extension isn't possible write manually to "Location" field. (I was try unlock and lock icons, but without success)

btw. exist some kind of video Tutorial (Youtube, Twitch, etc...) for your extensions (Weather, Organisations, Locations, Alignments, etc...)?
Which of them is good to setup as first and which then later. Because in all your extensions exist links which connect them together.
And I want use them in my campaign, please can you help me and recommend some best practice for configuring them? Which one starts?
Thank you for your time and answer MarianDz.

P.S. I tested it on 5E ruleset, Ultimate lic., only your extensions loaded + one Trenloe's Big Fonts 11pt., configuring as standalone (no link on DOE Location extension)

dulux-oz
December 6th, 2016, 00:18
I'll take a look at the Manual Fig 2 issue - thanks for letting me know.

I'd probably start with either the DOE: Locations or DOE: Organisations, depending upon if the campaign was more personality-focused or location-focused - but it doesn't really matter which DOE you start with, because you can always go back to the entries in a previous DOE once you start making entries in the current DOE.

Remember that the DOE: Alignment Graph and DOE: Campaign Style Graph are pretty much stand-only, and the DOE: OLE and DOE: Sound, while they can be linked into the other three DOEs, can also be pretty much stand-only as well. Out of the remaining three I'd leave the DOE: Weather to last, primarily because its a "day-to-day" tool that you probably want to have the DOE: Locations in place for already.

No, no Tutorial Vids (yet) - they're planned, but not done.

Believe I've found a bug. I have the calendar setup with a custom world calendar that has months with 3 weeks of 10 days each. When I try to generate weather for days later in the week, I get the following errors:

Script Error: [string "DOEWeather/Scripts/lsWeatherManager.lua"]:582: attempt to perform arithmetic on field '?' (a nil value)
Script Error: [string "DOEWeather/Scripts/lsWeatherManager.lua"]:582: attempt to perform arithmetic on field '?' (a nil value)

This happens when I click the "Next Day" button to generate a new weather record. If I actually create a new record for that date, and hit the generate button, it works fine, and I can do the "Next Day" button for another 7 days, then I get that message again.

Hey Dulux, i have just encountered an issue with the Weather Extension which has only occurred with the 3.2.2 update.
When creating a new weather record, trying to drag a location in to the appropriate field will freeze the application, additionally the weather page will also not recognise the calender date that is set. (using the Eberron calender).
This is using Current DOE effects (2.4 for weather) and confirming no conflict with other extensions by switching them all off.

Hi Andraax,

Mate, you didn't mention anything about an extra (Custom Calendar) Extension - your Extension is changing some fundamental functions in the Calendar system which the DOE: Weather relies upon.

So this isn't a bug, its an incompatibility between two Extensions.

I can't be expected to write the DOEs to take into account every possible (coding) change that someone else may want to put into the system - and the accepted trouble-shooting process when any error occurs is to disable all Extensions and then re-enable each one to determine which one(s) is the potential issue. This has been said by the Smite Works Devs and the Community Devs time and time again.

I'm not annoyed or anything, I'm just trying to explain what's happening - to you and to everyone else who reads this thread.

Cheers

My extension just plugs a set of functions into a table in the base ruleset, using a published interface.

Can you elaborate specifically what the problem might be? My new functions just return the equivalent values the Gregorian calendar functions return (obviously, though, going to 10 instead of seven because of the extra days in a week).

Hi Guys & Girls,

So its 21-Feb-2017 and I find myself in the position to be able to spend the next week or so on ensuring that the DOEs are working properly for people. In an effort to make my life easier in this, I'm going to ask you all to please post a message here about any outstanding Bugs you may have with this DOE (copies of this post are being made in each of the DOE Threads, so only post here about this DOE, please). However, before you do, please take a brief moment to read through any other Bug Posts made after this Post so that you're not telling me about something I've already been made aware of - sure, if you have further information, add it to the mix, but multiple posts about the same Bug are actually counter-productive - no "Me too" posts, please - thanks.

Also, just to spell things out explicitly, BEFORE you post a Bug could you please ensure that you have the latest Ruleset and Extensions (possible by downloading the Extensions again).

I'm going to use the Post # as the Bug Tracking # from now on, so if you do need to add information about a previously reported Bug, include the original Post/Bug # in your updated information - thanks.

Please note that this is about Bugs, not Desired Features (I'll probably do one of those "requests" requests later on).

If you do post a Bug, please include the following information:

The Ruleset you are using, including version numbers
A full list of any Extensions you have loaded, including versions numbers (where available)
If the Bug only occurs when a Module is loaded, the Module Name and version number (if applicable)
A detailed explanation of the Bug and how to reproduce it

So, let's see about making sure everything's working properly - your help and patience in this is appreciated.

Cheers

Probably an issue with the versions - have you updated to v3 of the DOE: Base?

Because I got held up with releasing the new version of the DOE: Weather, so it might be that.

Anyway, I'll look into it :)

Okay, I need to be more specific:

FG version 3.3.1
Ruleset: D & D 5.0
DOE Base Extension 3.0
DOE Weather Extensio 2.4.5

I tested using only these two extensions and no active modules.
Bugs (or what I believe to be bugs).

Precipitation always gives value "none", no matter how many days pass.
Temperature and hydrosphere do not change, no matter the season.

Using DOE Location Extension 4.6.1, there is this additional bug (or possible bug)
If I create a location, with specific information, say about latitude, and drag to the weather tab, that information is not updated.

Thanks

DeluxOz,

Was looking at your weather extension, and was wondering if it could be set up for a 4 hour cycle, instead of a daily cycle. I am working (rather sporadically I'll admit) on trying to get a Harn world set up... generically, no rules specific, anyways.
Thought there might be others who would appreciate this, or maybe even want a little more detailed (as in changes through the day) to the settings weather.

Anyway, thanks for your time, and extension,

James

The locations and organizations modules are wonderful and I'm working on reorganizing my campaign world to fit into them. I would love to be able to use this module as well.

The bug may be partially that you need to turn on a calendar for it to be tracking dates... otherwise you are rolling the same day over and over again. Once I turned on the calendar I started getting this error:

Script Error: [string "DOEWeather/Scripts/lsWeatherManager.lua"]:738: attempt to index global 'oNode' (a nil value)

I took a look at line 738:

oNode.getChild("hnSpecialWeatherDuration").setValue(math.min(nSpecialWeatherDuration,3));

but don't know enough about how this is programmed to know what the problem is. I'm sorry that I am not more help, and very grateful that someone who understands programming decided to take their time to make this.

Blessings,
Pro Nobis

Someone mentioned that it might be related to the desert choice in the location field. I turned this off and the error report went away. I still did not get any weather elements in two weeks of submissions on the plains. I tried to force some weather by raising humidity, but that did not seem to effect the next days report. Is there a way I can increase the likelihood of weather while troubleshooting? Thank you!

Heh!

'Twas an easy fix dude! :)
Gotta hate those minor typos

I know you are a long time coder, but none-the-less I thought I might suggest my favourite text editor of choice "sublime_text"! Why? I've tried all of them, familiar with all of them ... this one stands out not just for the regular features ... but for me it works on LX, MAC, and windows, and it has a user cfg that is easily export/importable on each of the OS types (i.e. it works that same!). Otherwise the other big selling point for me was it's ability to block-highlight/type/paste seamlessly ... so here's me just blathering on.

Hi All,

Well, things are progressing well enough with the new 13th Age Ruleset and Modules that I'm actually starting to consider how the Ruleset is going to interact with some of the Extensions available, such as the DOEs. With that in mind I desperately need someone(s) with some graphical experience (probably Photoshop) to do us up some 13th Age-style Menubar/Sidebar Buttons for the DOEs - as I've exclaimed on numerous occasions in the past, my graphic works SUX!

So if you'd like to lend a hand please drop me a PM - I can provide template images for most of the required buttons, but you will have to manipulate then to produce what we require - thanks.

Hi Everybody,

I've just placed a new version of the Extension on the first post (v3.1.0).

This version is a compatibility update for FGv3.3.4 and also included all the appropriate graphics for all of the supported Rulesets and the new Simple-Brown and Simple-Grey Themes (except for a single DOE: Organisations graphic for the CnC Ruleset - if someone can help with that it'd be appreciated).

DOE Depreciation Notice

With the release of the new DORCore Ruleset (currently v0.9.1), support for Community Rulesets within the DOEs is being depreciated. While the DOEs still work with those existing Community Rulesets as listed in the individual DOE Threads, the expectation is that this functionality will be removed for the next release of FG after v3.3.4 (ie in a few months time near the middle of 2018). This will allow the Developers of these Community Rulesets time to transition their Ruleset from being a child of the CoreRPG to being a child of the DORCore.

The DOEs will continue to work and will continue to be supported by me for all of the "standard" CoreRPG-child Rulesets available via the FG Updater utility. At this point in time (Feb-2018) this list of Rulesets consists of: CoreRPG, 3.5E, 4E, 5E, 13A (13th Age, ETA=Soon(TM)), CoC, CoC7, CnC, d20 Modern, Fate Core, Numenera, PFRPG and SW.

The reason this is being done is to consolidate the time and effort that is required to maintain compatibility - basically by doing things this way there will be more time for more features and functions to be included in the DORCore, DOEs and future DORs & DOEs.

Please see the DORCore Thread (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?42221-DORCore-An-Advanced-Beta-Release-Of-A-New-Ruleset) for further details.

This notice is being / will be placed on each of the individual DOE Threads.

Hi, and thank you for all your work on these extensions. I got your latest update of the locations, organizations, weather and Base.
I create location with the proper coordinate latitude and longitudes, the elevation information and the type of terrain.
When I create a new weather record, dragging and dropping this location I created, I check the details tab of the weather record, and the information for latitude/longitude and elevation do not seem to have picked up on the information entered in the location record.
Am I missing something or is there is no relations between these data points in both records?

Sorry, what's the issue? I'm not seeing what you're driving at :(

Sorry. Was trying to be polite, and I think I ended up being overly vague. My apologies.

These dates cover essentially the whole year, summer, winter, all the way around. I believe I have the setting "earth like" and set at a latitude off 44 degrees. Despite that, I'm rolling nearly identical weather: sunrise varying 15 minutes, sunset varying 15 minutes. The coldest day came up the 9th month, which should be summer/ fall, but even at that was pretty warm (40 and 60) if that were supposed to be winter.

Again, I presume I'm missing a proper setting, this extension is awesome.

Thanks again.

No, I don't have an direct information source for that - however, the GRAPH-T categories are pretty broad, so if you think about it it should be pretty obvious which values to assign - and nobody would be able to argue too effectively because the GRAPH-T categories are pretty broad :)

So, taking a quick look at the DOE:Locations Manual, I'd give the world of Toril (the planet/world that the Flanaess is part of, along with Kara-Tur, Maztica, etc) a GRAPH-T code of: 212333 (G2,R1,A2,P3,H3,T3)

The same one that caused me to write that when I was so tired it took me three goes in the first place :p

Still, Oerth and Toril are pretty much the same as far as the GRAPH-T code is concerned, so I'd use the same code for each: 212333 (G2,R1,A2,P3,H3,T3).

And for the record, you could use the same GRAPH-T code for most D&D-settings: Dragonlance, Darksun (maybe drop the H down to 2, and the R up to 2), Erberon(sp?), Basic D&D - Ravenloft might be a tad different. The point is, as I said previously, the GRAPH-T categories are pretty broad (they're designed to cover every possible condition of every possible body (sun, planet, moon, etc) imaginable). :)

Did you recently change the Wind Speed Measurement from KMH to MPH (or vice-versa)? if so, could you change it back and see if the error persists - thanks (and sorry about the delay) :)

paladiusdarkhelm

I tested this with a player of mine. We confirmed the error persistanted just logging in as-is. My player logged out. I set the wind speed to KPH and logged the server's 5e game out. I logged the server's 5e game back in. The player logged in and reported no errors. Out of curiousity, I asked the player to log out again. I set the wind speed back to MPH on the server's 5e game and logged out/in. The player logged in, and reported no errors with the wind speed set back to MPH. :-)

If all my other players log back in and have the same previous issue, I'll repeat this with them unless you know a quicker way to resolve (like maybe clearing the DB cache?). Thank you, Dulux-Oz!

Yeah, one of the thing I suspected was that that particular setting had become corrupted in your database. Setting it again looks like it cleared the "bad" data and so it should be all good now.

No idea off the top of my head, but I'll look into it.

Which Ruleset are you using, and which Calendar have you selected?

And have you set both the day your interested in's date and the date of the "Summer Solstice" (as per the Manual)?

I am using the GURPS ruleset, Calendar of the Flanaess, and I did set both the current date and the Summer Solstice date. It was working as of two, maybe three weeks ago, but for some reason I now get that error. The only thing that changed between then and now was I updated the DOE-Base and DOE-Weather extensions to their newest versions.

However, I do use these extensions for a D&D 5E game using the 5E ruleset, using the same calendar, at it seems to work fine.

Hope that helps some. Thanks for looking into it. I absolutely *love* the weather generator.

GURPS is not a supported Ruleset, and it is being depreciated for approx the the last 12 months.

Someone (& I know who) has changed the DOEs without my permission and illegally made them available to others in violation of the License Agreement. While the License Agreement allows people to modify the DOEs *for their own personal use only* those modified DOEs are *not* allowed to be distributed - no exceptions!

And just to make things explicitly clear to everyone who reads this - no, the DOEs are *not* released under an Open Source License of any kind - they are not Open Source Software (FOSS), but have been made available free of charge to this Community because I'm a member of this Community and I'm a (supposedly) "nice guy". If people continue to violate the License Agreement then I will be forced to withdraw *all* of the DOEs from this Community and may even go as far as to instigate legal proceedings against those who do violate the License Agreement - this would also include those who use parts of the "code" in separate Extensions, etc.

So, I'm sorry but I can't/won't support other people's modifications of my software. If the software has been modified by the user then they are on their own as far as any errors are concerned. If the modifications were done by someone else then the end-user needs to stop using the modified software because they are in violation of the License Agreement.

I trust people understand my position and respect my wishes.

@ssostac - I'm happy you like my work, and I am not blaming you at all for this situation we find ourselves in. I hope you continue to use and enjoy the DOEs with the 5E and other supported Rulesets. :)

Cheers

I just tripped over this thread, and want Dulux to know I use a modified version of one of his DOE extensions... Currency Conversion, (for my own satisfaction) but have not distributed
the code to anyone other than him, nor do I intend to.

The same applies to an alteration of the CoreRPG and 5e Rulesets for adding Spell Slot manipulation.

These augments are rightfully the property of the authors.

Thanks for that - btw it wasn't you I was talking about :)

Mate, people who steal a person's work are as low as scabs who cross a picket line, they are the lowest of the low and I would hope if it is feasible that you pursue them to the fullest extent of the law. Just on general principal. I stand behind you 100% on this

Dulux-Oz, is it possible for me to please discuss with you via PM a possible use of your DOE extensions. I sent through a PM a little while ago (I understand you are busy), but have not yet received your response, thanks in advance.

Hey there. I'd like to try this extension but it doesn't seem to work with my campaign. I'm using FG v3.3.6, 5e ruleset with your Base extension, Locations and Orgs on (which are wonderful btw).
I've copied the extension to the folder and when I try to load a campaign i get that big red X instead of a chance to choose to load it or not. Any advice?

Edit: Nevermind, I've managed to fix this by updating to the newest Base Extension. Thanks anyway!

Hi, I noticed an issue with the Harptos calendar and this extension.

I was trying to create weather for a subarctic region around the equivalent of october for that calendar. I set the summer solstice as indicated in the calendar, but when I tried to generate the weather for those dates, both the day lengths would be too long and the temperatures too warm. As I advanced in the year, trying new dates, the problem persisted, with a winter temperature and day length only arriving on the first day of the year (which meant a weird jump in day lengths and temperatures)

I suspect that this has something to do with the way the Harptos calendar uses months (each special feast day is counted as a separate month), which throws the weather calculations out of whack.

I switched to a gregorian calendar and it is working fine, and I am using it in my campaign for now, but as it is a FR campaign it would be great to be able to ise the right calendar.

Thanks for all your work!

Hello All,

I plan on releaseing updates to all the DOE's and to the DORCore soon after FGv3.3.8 is released (this is a goal, not a promise). The new versions will be placed as a download on the first post of the relevant thread (as they were originally).

I have also removed all of the DOEs from GitHub - current versions of the DOEs can be found on the first post of the relevant Thread.

Cheers

Hi All,

I've just published (and/or will be publishing over the next 12 hours) new versions of all the DOEs. These versions work with FGv3.3.8 & FGv3.3.9 (when it gets released).

Note: For the moment, these versions of the DOEs DO NOT WORK WITH FGU-Beta (for those of you in the FGU-Beta-test Program). For the moment, please feel free to use the (now) old versions of the DOEs. I'll be releaseing FGU-Compatible/Supported/Tested version when FGU is released.

Each new DOE version has been placed on the first Post of each relevant DOE Thread, as per normal.

I'll be updating the each DOE Maunuals (and the FG Wiki), plus the individual Ruleset Extensions Threads, over the next little while.

These DOEs, apart from having general updates, have the following modifications to them:

Added ColourGroups to all DOE Lists - Allows the player to give one of 7 coloured backgrounds (8 if you include "none") to the individual Entries in Lists. Used to visually group Entries together. Look for the Rainbow on all DOE List.
Fixed the Comma in Prices Issue in Buildings (Shops)
Caused Items weighing less than 1 unit to be recorded as 0 weight to stop the FG Engine's recording them as a long decimal in Buildings (Shops).
Fixed the Coin Label case Issue in Buildings (Shops).
Added ChatBox Message on character buy & sell in Buildings (Shops).

Thanks to Tim Cox for help in getting the last 4 of these done.

These DOEs now support:

CoreRPG
13th Age
D&D 2E
D&D 3.5E
D&D 4E
D&D 5E
Call Of Cthulhu 6E
Call Of Cthulhu 7E
Castles & Crusades - Needs a Graphic
Cypher Systems
Fate Core
Numenera
PFRPG
PFRPG2
SavageWorlds (SWADE) - Needs three Graphics
SFRPG - Needs Graphics
SWD
The Strange
The Dungeon, Simple Brown, Simple Grey, and Wood Themes across all supported Rulesets

These DOEs have had the following Rulesets depreciated and are no longer supported:

BoL
Dark Herasy
GURPS - may re-support in coming versions.
Maelstrom
MoreCore
WHFRP2

As per normal, if you find any bugs (these Extensions are provided "as is"), have any suggestions, etc, then please let me know by posting here for the relevant DOE and I'll get it fixed and released ASAP.

Enjoy :)

Hi Everyone,

If you would like to report a Bug or make a Feature Request in relation to this DOE please do so in this Thread.

The best way to make a Bug Report and/or Feature Request is to follow these guidelines:

Please give your Post a Heading/Title of either “BUG Report” or “Feature Request” (eg. like the Title of this Post). Your Issue will then be assigned an Issue Number of the Post’s Post Number.
For Bug Reports, please include:

The Version of FG you are using
The Ruleset you are using
A List of all Extensions you have loaded, including any and all Version Numbers
Whether the Bug occurred on the GM's computer, the Player(s) computer, or both
Any Error Message(s) displayed (if any)
And as detailed a description of what you were doing when the Bug occured

For Feature Requests, please include as much detail about the Feature as you can.
Before making such a Bug Report or Feature Request Post, please look through this Thread to see if your Issue or Feature hasn’t already been posted. I'll periodically summarise the Bug Reports and the Feature Requests and their Status in a Post to this Thread.
If you have further information about a Bug or a Feature Request then you can make an addendum Bug Report or Feature Request by following these guidelines. Please add the original Bug Report or Feature Request Issue/Post Number to the end of your Post's Heading.
In an effort to keep the number of Posts in this Thread from being overwhelmed, please do not post “Me Too” Bug Reports or Feature Requests.

If you would like to contact me to obtain help, or for any other reason, please do so by Posting to this Thread (greatly preferred) or, if you require some privacy, to the Fantasy Grounds PM System (not preferred at all).

Note that posting to the Fantasy Grounds Forums will result in the fastest response, not just from me but also from other users of this DOE. I only check my PM Inbox every couple of days.

Cheers

The author decided to remove it back in January, along with all of his other extensions. You can search the forums if you need more info on what was going on.
