In a world that isn’t our world scientists at CERN, in their Switzerland, discovered a practical way to employ the many universe theory of Dr Hugh Everitt and parachronics was born. Initial explorations of the parallel worlds began but on one early foray the first explorers encountered resistance.
That was twenty years ago-now agents of the Infinity Patrol-aided by civilian specialists, travel the parallels that have not been closed off by the enemy and attempt to thwart the ambitions of Centrum ,a rival patrol whose aim is the isolation of Homeline.

There are many parallel worlds. Some are more advanced than Homeline, some far less so. There are worlds where the Spanish Armada smashed Drake’s task force and Elisabeth was burned at the stake, worlds where the Roman Empire did not decline and even worlds where the laws of physics seem to operate differently allowing ‘magic’ to flourish.
Then there are the horror parallels ; nightmare places where Vampires, werewolves and worse may exist.

Gurps:Infinite Worlds will be a pick up campaign with characters visiting multi genre worlds and timelines.
One week they may be investigating a suspicious energy signature in a remote monastery in 10th Century England before the Vikings arrive on Grendel IV, the next they may be attempting to stage a break out from the Confederate Prison camp at Andersonville in 1864 on Gettysburg-III.

Saturday Nights 8pm to 11pm UK time.

Characters can be recruits from the more or less contemporary 21st Century of Homeline Earth or from any of the virtually Infinite Parallel Worlds and times.
They may also be friendly ‘locals’ involved in the individual scenarios.

Gurps has a very straightforward mechanic at its heart-roll 3D6 and get equal or less than your modified target number.
It has a point build cost character system.

So all I gotta do is be alive at around 1300 to join, by the way I may not be able to do all games since I work 7 days on and 7 days off. and they are 12 hour shifts. I also have an hour drive to do before and after work from home to work. I should be able to make most games but not all.

That is fine-I am hoping that this will be the sort of campaign that can be jumped into and out of

Hype ! That's in one week. I started looking at options, should make a high INT dude, scientist / magician if possible, something like that.

Sure-you could be a field researcher/specialist type. If you are from Homeline its basically TL8 with TL9 emergent but you could come from somewhere else( probably not Gallifrey!)

Yes.
The first scenario is good to go but we can spend a bit of time tonight on character .
I also want to have a discussion about the tone of the campaign and other aspects.
I have mostly completed the campaign planning form but I would like everyone's views about tone-realistic or cinematic or a mix of both, how 'crunchy' people want the system to be for the game( I tend to be a bit rules-lite),how much of the wider system we are familiar with (Gurps has a lot of add -ons and Pyramid magazine has more).that sort of stuff.

No worries-we just went through character generation and a few campaign concepts. I have now completed most of the Campaign Planning Form and then on Sunday found that SJG had produced a new super duper expanded campaign planning form. It is shaping up ok .Look forward to having you along on Saturday-birthday too.

Text only-my PC is in the front room so the family won't really tolerate me talking as well as typing. I am more used to text chat only so it seems to work alright-more immersive really. You are very welcome to come along-very early days in the campaign yet as you can see above.

Thanks for taking the time to try it. In the speed dating process that is finding players and GMs, we had a couple of great games !

You remember this item we were working on for our mages to be able to cast more ? Here it is !
