Hello,

Please post here if you wish to join the upcoming game with your XML and portrait files.

Note I have a full license of FG only, players must have a Lite License or higher to connect.

I'd be interested in bringing my 1st lvl Tiefling Alchemist (mindchemist) along on this one, but I'll need to check with the Scheduling Coordinations Officer (my wife) to see if I have that time slot free.

Edit: FYI, I was considering running this as well on the 21st or in early Oct, just in case anyone either can't make this or wants to run it more than once. :)

I will send my campaign file to you this morning if you still want it

I'm signed up, now to decide if I want my Level 1 Aasimar Cleric or my Level 1 Elf Wizard. I shall wait to see what the group needs more.

If I'm not mistaken this is the one module each pathfinder character can do once, and it's not limited to one time per acct?

Yes, you can run it/play it a limitless number of times for 1st level credit. You can only run it/play it once each for 2nd level credit. There might be a few others that are like this. Pretty much the Tier 1-2 scenarios, I think.

I am interested in playing in this! I will check with my Scheduling Coordinations Officer as well, but I don't think it will be a problem. I went ahead and signed up on the Calendar, but will confirm on this message board in the next day or two. Thanks for running this!

Looks like I will not be able to make this time. Sorry. Got a lot of things going on that Fri/Sat/Sun.

AH! I'm out too. I just realized that the time wasn't listed in EST. Sorry, but I'll still be at work. Hopefully next time!

No problem Skellan, looks like you will be a 5th currently, part of the discussion is happening on the calendar.

Since we have a Druid, I'll bring my Elf Wizard, I'll have the xml, portrait, and PFS# tonight. This is a new character.

September 11th, 2014, 22:13
Here's my character, and here's my PFS# 118469-3

I don't thinking I'm missing anything for a new character? If not I'll get it first thing in the morning.

kwarner - the Victoria build looks like it's at 23 pts. If this is formal PFS one-shot campaign, is it supposed to be 20 pts? I'm new to PFS and also can't see the chat in the calendar yet.

Breakdown: STR 7: -4 pts, DEX 18: 10 pts (+2 elf), CON 10: 2 pts (-2 elf), INT 20: 17 pts (+2 elf), WIS 12: 2 pts, CHA 7: -4 pts = 23 pts.

Maybe a point of DEX has to go if 20 is the target. Just trying to help out.

I have a 2-weapon, 19 DEX Elven Rogue. I like the Breadth of Experience feat you chose.

I guess I have to read about combat and social traits. Didn't choose any of those yet. But, I did Alt Racial abilitize him, which is cool.

Also, are we allowed to have masterwork items? And if so, which ones? I would love a mithral chainshirt or maybe mw leather to help ASF until able to get better armor. Also, MW thieve's tools and longsword would help.

Holognome can buy things like that, but all starting PFS characters have 150gp in their pockets which you can spend as you wish.

TheGuide to Pathfinder Society Organized Play (https://paizo.com/products/btpy84k4) is the best thing to go over. Chapter 2 is character creation.

While this is a one off, by recording this information etc. you can then use the character again at a future game. One thing to also remember when starting is you can change almost anything on a level one character to another legal option so you can try out different things until you reach level 2.

OK - found the PFS Org. Play. pdf helpful - was getting hung up on faction traits. It looks like I will be Liberty or Lodge. I'm a little surprised the the FG PFRPG sheet doesn't have a dedicated slots for things like factions and traits. On the gp amt/mw items - OK - I will see what I can afford.

kwarner - noticed one other minor thing on Victoria - you are over by 1 on languages (should be 7 total)...also Dwarven is not a bonus language for elves, so that is probably the one to ditch. Hope that helps.

Attached is Zan's final inventory. No money - better go on an adventure or something. That longbow is a killer on my wallet.

xazil - are Smoked Goggles or Sundark Goggles legal in PFS as a way of mitigating light sensitivity?

https://paizo.com/pathfinderRPG/prd/advanced/advancedGear.html

Smoked Goggles - 10gp: These spectacles have lenses made of smoked glass that help protect against creatures with gaze attacks. You are always treated as averting your gaze when dealing with gaze attacks, and you gain a +8 circumstance bonus on saving throws against visual-based attacks (any attack that a blind creature would be immune to). You have a –4 penalty on Perception checks while wearing the goggles, and all opponents are treated as having concealment (20% miss chance).

From Races of the Dragon:

Sundark Goggles - 10gp: The smoked lenses of these goggles block light. Sundark goggles negatte the dazzled condition experienced by a creature with light sensitivity while in bright illumination. As a side effect, they grant the wearer a +2 circumstance bonus on saving throws against gaze attacks. A creature wearing sundark goggles can't use a gaze attack. Creatures without low-light vision or darkvision take a -2 penalty on search and spot checks.

Smoked are for gaze attacks, not mitigating dazzled and they are PFS legal.

Sundark googles are from 3.5 instead of PF and are not PFS legal.

https://paizo.com/pathfinderSociety/about/additionalResources is your link for finding what you can use and what you can't. Generally anything from Paizo is PFS legal. With the exceptions on that page which tend to be rare.

Sorry, I have also just caught that taking darkvision on an elf is actually illegal under PFS.

By the way, Victoria has +1 stat from being a Transmuter specialist and 1 rank of Linguistics skill gains a language.

OK - thanks - that's all really helpful! Wow - the right kind of Elven Wizard in PFS has beefy stats, albeit somewhat min/maxed, similar to my elf. I thought there might be one or two things I was missing when looking at that character - anyway, thanks - it helped me to understand PFS a little better. kwarner - it's OK to ignore my learning curve. ;-) This is my first PFS or PF attempt.

Anyway - no Darkvision, but therefore, no Light Sensitivity. But, the goggles are still nice to have. I will do some more revision and figure out traits. Is there anything else I need to do besides traits? Combat skills?

Well, 7 Strength can hurt a lot in carrying capacity and there are definitely times where a a party of people who all dumped charisma are going to fail a scenario.

Basic Checklist:
Stats
Race
Class
Feat(s)
Skills
Traits
Gear
PFS Number
Faction (defaults to Grand Lodge)

It's all looking like a lot of fun guys. Wishing Dr. Grimwell, my tiefling Alchemist, could come along. But his wife just got home from being out of town and she'd probably kill him if he chose to hang out with friends rather than spend time with her. :p

No problem cmdisc, looks like lots of Confirmations are going on. I might be joining you in one later to see if I can get through it alive. :D

I'll basically leave the server up from now until we play if people want to connect and do their characters themselves, or else Ill import them shortly before start when I awaken.

The address is Able Ally Epic Luck

I will make a channel on the FG server as well.

No worries, I built her as a know it all who lacks social graces. So be prepared to be called a dumb commoner.

I know about the Str and Chr dumpers, that's why I waited to see what we were going to have before I selected her. She's a great asset to the party, but if no one has Chr I usually bring Evelyn (Sorceress) or Rebbeca (Cleric of Shelyn)

I built my Rogue as a snarky, free-spirited spy with a vengeful streak. Be prepared to be killed in your sleep. ^_^ Uncharismatic 7 r us.

xazil - looks like I can access the server OK.

Good thing PFS doesn't allow for PvP. Not sure I'd want that Rogue taking watch in the dead of night. :p

TPK seriously? Someone's got hot dice. :p

xazil
September 14th, 2014, 10:21
No, no TPK, there was definite danger there although. :)

Although speaking before of social situations and dice that weren't hot, things didn't go that well when people with -2 diplomacy were attempt to hit DC20s and rolled 1s...
