Hi All

I noticed on the Fantasy Flight Games forum that someone Steve (of the Red Fez) has created some rather nifty Clue Cards to be used for an Eye for an Eye. I love the idea and was wondering whether a deck of such cards could be recreated in fantasy grounds. They're basically a series of clue cards which would be turned over and given out to players to help them to solve the mysteries of the adventure.

I'd be interested to know people's thoughts on how I might implement such cards, thinking about it they may not even need to be a deck of cards just some way to integrate the clue system within FG.

Thoughts?

PS I thought this post would be better suited to the Workshop. But now I cannot delete this post.

Easy...
Scan your cards in - keep the size nice and small - less than 50kb each.
Create a Table.
If there is (for example) 24 cards just add one entry with values: 1, 1, Card Name and then drag the appropriate card on to the name and it will become a link.
Optional Step: Once you have the Table complete drag the Dice icon onto the Hotbar and you can make a roll by clicking the Hot Bar or using the FKey.
Once you roll a card you can right click and share to all or you can drag it on to a players portrait to share only with that player.

What damned says above is correct. Use the table entry if you want to randomly select cards from your list. If you want to implement something like the clue cards you mention you won't need the table as these aren't given out at random, the relevant card is given out as the players find the specific clue. For this, make the images as damned says and put them in your campaign. Within the Images and Maps window right-click and create a new category, which makes a new tab at the bottom of the images list. Right click on this to change the colour and icon to something appropriate. Then drag the card images from the main list onto this new tab. You can label the tab by typing "Clue Cards", for example, in the chat entry (but don't press enter) and then drag the text you have entered onto the category tab you have created. You now have a nice coloured tab with a specific icon and label for your cards. See the "Categories" section here: https://www.fantasygrounds.com/wiki/index.php/Campaign_Data#Categories

You could go a step further and do the above in a blank campaign and then export the data into a module that you can activate and use again and again in your campaigns. See the "FG Battle Maps" module that comes with Fantasy Grounds as an example of an image module.

if you just want to share a specific clue card or story with a specific user try this quick video:

Thanks for the advice guys.

followed your advice and went the extra mile like Trenloe suggested and now have my very own WFRP Clue Card mod :). I don't know what's more surprising. The speed in which you guys helped me find a solution or the fact that I went ahead and tried it and it worked exactly as you guys said it would. Anyway mission accomplished.

Thanks again :)
