Dark Sun Theme Extension (DnD 4E)

Hi Everyone,

I didn't found the exact place to share THEMEs - said that - I wanna share a customized Dark Sun Template for D&D 4E. I'm GM for a long time and Dark Sun is one of my favorites scenarios of D&D.

I always try create an atmosphere with background music and lot images, but the standard theme doesn't fell like a Dark Sun (desert, ruins, bones, stone, hot and lonely haha). I tried to customize the ruleset - but since I'm a designer and not a developer, I just wanna change the visual. So I created a Dark Sun version, a theme. It's a work in development but It's looks nice now, above there is a preview and a link to download the theme. (install in the extensions folder and good to go)

PS: If there is a place to share extensions, please let me now.

Thanks for sharing this - looks great.

The extension hasn't been created properly - the .zip file needs to be setup so that the extension.xml file and other files are in the base of the .zip file. This extension has a folder as the base. Just move the files from the folder into the top level of the .zip file. Without this FG won't recognise the extension and list it in the campaign load screen.

If I may, the background (desktop middle frame) seems too small. Can't say for sure because the screenshots are downscaled… ok just downloaded it. So not small per se, at least not as small as I thought, but very similar. It gives the impression that the middle frame is 100×100px or something.

You'll might want to try something bigger, from cgTextures (https://cgtextures.com/textures.php?t=search&q=sand&cat=43025) for example.

I never knew how to do exacly a theme, but I will do properly next time and share here after.

About the image scales: the screenshots are to small I guess. The main image of the background (dark sun logo) is very restrictive. I can't do a theme that work in all screen modes, some of my players have 1280px or 1400px or even 2048px - I have to pick one resolution.

After the update on theme I will share here.

My next game will of Call of Cthulhu. The default theme is very nice, but I wanna something with more clear buttons and more 50's era.

I was been working in a the for Call of Cthulhu and I will update this extension.

I will upload a version with different background (for big screens) and put some screen shots of it. I don't know yet if will work on D&D 5.0. I will check this out this week. =)
