Hi,

First off, I am aware there are FAQs etc. I've read and followed the instructions as best I could but failed to get anywhere. Any help you might provide would be much appreciated.

1) I've connected to Local Host successfully so assume that it is not my firewall
2) I've given myself a static IP address
3) I followed the instructions at: https://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Cisco/DPC3925/Fantasy_Grounds.htm
4) I've checked using: https://www.canyouseeme.org/ still no good
5) I've tried using a VPN (privateinternetaccess)

All to no avail.

I'd appreciate any help or suggestions.

I am at your mercy!

Lavaeolus,

I work with IT-security and Firewalls and usually manage to get things to work through firewalls and home-routers. If you can stand some "have you tried turn it of and on again"-type of questions I could attack the problem together with you. No need to make this a forum thread so just pm me if you want me to assist.

When you were using your VPN which IP address were you using to test?

Did you re-start Fantasy Grounds after you connected to your VPN and was FG seeing your VPN IP address as the "External IP"?

When you try canyouseeme.org were you running a campaign as a GM - i.e. campaign fully loaded up and ready for players to join? FG only listens on port 1802 if you have a campaign running.

If you fix the problem outside of this forum please come back and tell us what the issue was, it might help other community members with a similar problem in future.

Hi - a couple of users have PM'd to offer help, I will see if I can resolve with them and then revert to the forum with my solution

I think its fixed. I ran through all the steps again and then checking canyouseeme after I launched the campaign. It now reports that it can see me.

HOWEVER - when I run the connection test from the launch menu it results in a failiure...
The VPN route doesnt seem to work at all thus far.

If anyone sees this in the next couple of hours I am hanging out in the community teamspeak server. Would be great to try and have a player connect...

Just tried a player connect with Mellock - unfortunately did not work. So back to drawing board...

So thanks to an heroic effort from Damned I've been able to get Hamachi working. Unfortunately we were not able to resolve this any other way because I'm being 'double NATed' by my ISP.
