FG License: GM has Ultimate so players can play for free
Game System: Stargate: SG-1 RPG (based off of d20 Modern)
Time Zone: Eastern Time USA
Day of week and time: Wednesday evenings, 9 pm to Midnight
Planned Frequency: 1 x Weekly.
Text or Voice: Text-only
Role-play & Combat mix: I estimate it will be about 25-33% combat. Mainly roleplaying centric.
Number of Players in game & needed: 4-5 players max. (I have 3 solid players now, so opening is for 1-2 additional players)
Character starting level & equipment: 1st level, 20 point stat buy
Notes: I have a Player's Guide I can provide. It is essentially just like the actual book with some options taken out (such as Jaffa and Tok'ra player character options).

Restrictions: Serious players only. If you are the type that wants to play practical jokes on the other players in the middle of a mission, the SGC will not accept you. Stargate Command is a professional organization that wants highly motivated and professional personnel. A good sense of humor is appreciated. Feinting death to screw with the other players during the mission is not.

Details: The campaign will actually begin in an alternate reality version of SG-1, right after SG-1 discovered Teal'c and has gone on approximately a half dozen missions. There are only about a half dozen SG teams at this time and your group is being considered as an additional team. Note that there will be at least one training scenario before the new team is allowed to go off-world in order to make sure the team meshes and to help the players get accustomed to the rules. The SG-1 team may make appearances as NPCs periodically but for this campaign, they are not the focus, you are.

Please let me know if you are interested and I will add your name to the tryout list. The SGC will select its candidates via interviews and through the training mission(s). Thank you.

“We have quite a few applications for the new SG team’s security and reconnaissance component. What’s the latest iteration of our candidate selection process?”

“Sir, from what we’ve learned from the original teams, we’re not looking for the best shooters. They have a tendency to resolve encounters… in a manner that doesn’t always further the mission of the SGC.”

“Agreed. What’s the solution?”

“As we did with our specialist evaluation, we’ve placed a fictional manuscript into transient quarters that introduces the candidate to the concept of a Stargate without disclosing the actual program.”

“I can’t really see many airmen drawn to reading something called Archeology Astronauts.”

“Absolutely, Sir. The psychology department came to the same conclusion and made some changes to the original script so that the ancient portal was stumbled upon by a lone military recon team in the Libyan desert. They go through and discover the human population enslaved by others possessed by aliens. They manage to make it back through the portal, of course they’re still calling it the GAP, and are about to decide what to do next when the manuscript ends.”

“So it leaves them in the same position as they did with Miss Hawazin? To draw their own conclusions on how to deal with the gate, GAP.”

“Exactly, Sir”

“What’s her current status?”

“They’re still having problems with her background security check, but otherwise she seems a capable fit.”

“Excellent. Keep me apprised of the selection process.”

“Of course, Sir.”

“Oh, what was the title they used for the new script?”

“Rules of Engagement: Alien Interdiction.”

Here is a sign I developed. This sign can be seen within the training areas and dormitories of the Stargate Command complex within Cheyenne Mountain.

Andraax, did you get the private message I sent you?

I love Star Gate, and even though it's really late for me (2 AM according to time conversion) my Thursdays have recently been freed up and honestly I am willing to play at that time for this campaign as I've been hoping someone would run SG1 for quite some time (Even toyed with the idea of running one myself). So, sign me up :P.

Yeah, I'm looking the stuff over. I can't make it this week, but I may be available starting next week (haven't had time to create a character).

I'm still working on the ruleset and wanted to give everyone a chance to read the rules. I'm thinking I wouldn't start until beginning of July anyway. I just wanted to make sure you received the PM (some people don't check their PMs). Thanks.

What's the status, Science. I like the mission based concept. Does SG-1 still have openings ? :)

If so, count me in, I'm already looking for the books !

I love the look of the game, but alas it is outside my time availability. If someone accidentally sets off a temporal shift device and you start two to three hours earlier, do look me up. Otherwise, good luck in the search!

All you have to do is pass through a stargate during a solar flare from memory. Mind you... Its a bit random so you may end up in 18th century revolutionary france, but hey.. thats the luck of the draw ;)

I would like to join, but this starts a half hour before the earliest I can be off work. I know this is a long shot, but is there any chance of a schedule adjustment to at least an hour later?

Shadou,

I would love to adjust the game for you but there are also players that cannot go too late either. If I started an hour late and ended at the same time, that would only give 2 hours for each game session. If it turns out that we end up needing new players and the group is okay with 2 hour game sessions, I will let you know.
